Sensi Star growing

tying down the plants to the sides farthest away from the bulb will expose the lower portions of the plant to greater light penetration, and stimulate the lower growth to grow in more lush and be more productive..... those plants aren't taking up enough horizontal space to suck up all the light being put out..... they could be vegged for two more weeks and lollipopped, but that would not provide the same yield as an LST tie down to the farthest from light side, and lst tie down on the inside of the lower growth to the side of the pot closest to the light...... basically doing the LST and increasing veg time will turn the area into a SOG with a full canopy, allowing for trimming of the lower outside growth to promote the increase in production and focus of energy on budsites that have their leaves completely exposed to the light. 2 weeks extra veg time minimum, 2 1/2 weeks would be optimum with the LST...... Once the plants have filled out to form a full canopy, or just before, go ahead and flip to 12/12....... those larger ones on the side should be lollipopped (cloned) to keep them at bay before the switch..... or to create a staggered harvest, go ahead and remove the other larger plants (mendo purps, and seedling) for 12 hours of the light cycle consistant to what the 12 hours off will be when you flip to 12/12 on the Sensi Star..... hope that makes sense, let me know if you want me to clarify anything....
just bumpin it so you guys see it, and can't get mad at me for not sayin nothingorder from here.... expensive, but worth it for the selection they have...... get two varieties (I recommend the Amblyseius Cucumeris, and the minute pirate bugs (Orius) ) + praying mantises to control predatory populations

makes perfect sense. Plants were lst late afternoon yesterday. We will trim out side growth tonight. Mother plant did not have a real rubbery stem as the other three Sensi Star had, she looks like she is just pulled off to the side....that doesn't make sense but yeah. haha

clipping off lower growth (or any growth for that matter) will cause the plant to have a defensive reaction actually strengthening the stem

I noticed the yellowing on the leaves on some of the girls, and like LoadedDragon was saying, I was also wondering what was up with them. I read a little back that you were treating with Neem oil, did you have a bug problem? At first I thought looking at them that it was a nute deficiency (like a Magnesium def -yellowing leaves on the outter)
Howvere, I found that last time I had bugs (leaf lice) the plants did suffer a bit after treatment, but got back on track after a while...so perhaps it's down to the treatment....they do look quite hungry though so uping nutes a bit is probably a good idea (at least on intermitent feeds). Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hey there DST thanks for stopping by and droping a line. Yea the ladies have had troubles throughout their life. At first it was not efficient light. Then there were the spider mites that came and took over for way to long.....and feeding has been on the light side the plants whole life. Sitting here thinking about it thats a tough life :-/ Well I can say that next grow the clones off these plants will have a much better life. I am glad that I have learned so many things to do and not to do......Should get exciting in a couple of weeks.....Hoping to start flowering for 5 of them on the 10th or 11th depends on how they fill in.....Next feeding I will add some bloom nutes to the mix.

These ingredients are processed by first oxygenating them for a week in a special tea brewer, then the mix is pasturized, cooled, strained and filtered to remove sediments. The endo and ecto bacteria strains are added later. Ensuring only positive microorganisms are present.
This concentrated fertilizer, requires mixing prior to use. One half ounce to one gallon of chlorine free water. It provides both a highly soluble feeding solution and disease protection from the endo and ecto bacteria.

the flower power is more comparable to FF tiger bloom than the big bloom..... your looking at a couple different areas of nutrition and health there

First 5 pics welcome you in hehe...
temps around the garden have been running a little warm but not bad at all. It gets to about 80 with a very nice breeze.
at night it is about 60-65.
RH-was low today at around 45%
Light is sitting at about..... 8in away from canopy. Since the plants have been LST the profile of the plants has dropped dramatically. They are getting more light to side growth and it looks like it will fill in nice.
pH lvl- All plants except 1 are at about 6 mother Sensi Star is about 6.5 going to check right after next watering and try to make adjustments from there.
Pics 6-8 I think this is the start of a mag deficiency or maybe a cal deficiency; What does everyone think?

Want to pick up some FF Big bloom and maybe either dolomite lime or the cal/mag plus to take care of that problem with the leaf tips. With the light lower it the plants are just basking in it.
Lower foliage will grow nice with the plants pulled down to the side like they are....

have you started the 12/12 on the other plants? I would, otherwise your SS is going to be shaded by them in flower......

Cousin thought that was a great idea. We want to wait to get one more feeding in this up coming week with a good dose of veg nutes and to introduce some bloom nutes too.... then let the SS veg for another week on top of that.....how does that sound??
