yea i kno but it will be better to get a shit load of cfls
I dunno if I agree. More wattage gets better penetration than your little 23 or 42 watters and you can still keep it close, like two inches, provided you run a fan or an open space to dissipate the heat.

Yes, you can run a fuck load of 23 watters adjust all the little fuckers every couple days but thats to much work for me. I use two 65 watt and five 42 watt for 340 watts. They are at the top of my grow space. The plant shelf raises or lowers rather than the lights. One internal fan on the foliage, one exhaust fan out the top. My fully LSTed plant gave 33 grams dry and my small clone gave up 23 grams dry.

You can check out my indoor stealth grow shelf. I dunno if all my posting show to other forum readers or not but if you look under my name my posts are listed. Im no expert, but my shit is working well.bongsmilie

i got all my lights like 3 inches away an i got 2 raise them everyday basicly an it is a bitch but over all, its pritty damm good lol.. i just cant find a big 6500k like 65 watts would be nasty, i would have like 3 of them on it for vegg an i would have 3 2700k lights and 1 6500k on each plant during flowering an that wat im tryin 2 do an i kno i would be good with that for each plant

More 23 or 42 w cfls are a better price and easier to position.

i positioned stationary side lighting, and a movable top light source, all 23 watt bulbs, 13 of them. my top lights are on a 1 to 4 point pulley so i can stagger the taller ones to one side and tilt the lights to accomodate the tops of each plant. with a little rotation of the pots and proper training all i do is move the lights straight up as they get bigger.

if that is the 65w cfl from lowes.... that bulb is HUGE, for the amount of space it takes up you could have 4 23 watt or 42 watt bulbs on splitters in its place and have much more lighting on top.... especially since lowes 6 pk of 2700k bulbs and 4 pk of 6500k bulbs both 23 watts are only $3.00 until Nov. 17!!! like illegal said, cheaper and easier to position.

big wattage bulbs have more surface area to let off radiant heat and are generally hotter.... 110 degree bulb with room temperature ventilation is still gonna leave your grow cabinet above 80 degrees without a cool air source..... same deal as with hid's.

My lights are connected to surge protectors on the walls. They are set high and I use phone books and boxes to raise my plants up to them as they need to be. I also made a light hood from cardboard, shoe string, and flat white paint. This way I only have to adjust the lights every other week. My plants enjoy them very much, and one of them has used 2700 through veg and still successfully growing in flower.
