why dont you put the aerogarden hood on its own power line that way you can put on the timer, and set strictly 12/12 like you want it and it wont run off of the aerogarden settings

all you need is a figure 8 power cable same one you find off the back of a playstation or old stereos. unplug the hood from the aerogarden power supply and connect it with your new line.

i cant see how this is possible ... the hood light has the figure 8 which u can pull out but the other end is stuck into the AG ,

It's really quite easy. Get a figure eight power cord from your local Radio Shack for about eight bucks. Don't be surprised if they don't know what you're talking about though. It's a replacement power cord with a typical male plug at one end that will stick into an electrical outlet and a double round female plug at the other end that looks like the number "8." Disconnect your lamp hood from your controller cord that comes up from the base of your A/G and just let it hang. Plug the figure eight cord into the back of the hood and plug the other end into an independent timer. Set if for twelve on/twelve off and you can force flowering to start within a few days. Hope this helps. Let me know how it works. Hank

A/G's aren't designed to grow what we want. To force flowering though the easiest way I know to do it is to get a "figure eight cord" from Radio Shack or the Ninety Nine Cents Store and an independent timer. You can get those almost anywhere: Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Lowe's, or Harbor Freight. Unplug your A/G, disconnect your hood from the power cord coming from the base control unit and plug your figure eight cord into the hood. Plug the figure eight cord into the timer set for twelve on/twelve off and you're ready to fool you plants into flowering. Don't forget to change your nutrients to a flowering/blooming formula.
