i just don't understand how anyone coud possibly be a republican still after 8 years of gwb... ugggghhh.. anything.. and i mean anything has got to be ten steps ahead of where our country has been for the last eight years... and i would have felt bad for whomever took over office after this douche, democrat or republican, as they have such a mess to clean up it will take years and years of hard work to get us out of some of the messes that gwb has gotten is into...

Yep liberal Republicans have done a number on the country.
So we elect a Liberal Democrat to Fix it, LOL.
Still in Iraq and Afganistan. (spreading democracy through force is a liberal idea)
Still doing rendition.
Still got the patriot act.
Still spending money hand over fist.
Expanding government power at breakneck pace.
Yep anyone who liked Bush should love Obama.
Two peas in a pod.

So Mirtha is defacto lord of congress when hes in the big chair?
Cool, Hes like Capt. Picard only more corrupt.

It doesn't appal me because you made a thread trying to appal me. Now whatever the thread is about is irrelevant and I could care less. I win.

Well now I'm a Conservative but after 8 years of Bush and the Republicans setting records for fraud, waste, and abuse the American peoples tolerance for stupidity is so extremely high that it will take massive fuck ups equivalent to the Bush admin's failures before anybody cares. And that is going to very hard to do..

STFU doob, youre boring.

I don't know about the rest of you, but my life rocked from 2000 to 2008. Not that he was responsible for it, but I will always look back at the years of the Bush presidency as the most prosperous of my life. Managed to retire in August of '05 at the ripe old age of 36, courtesy of the Community Reinvestment Act and the ridiculous home prices it brought with it... thanks dems. If you didn't sell at the peak, knowing it was going to crash... well then you must not have been watching Glenn Beck... too bad, so sad. Morons.

You STFU!

And stop calling me doob, I don't go by that name anymore.

You obviously forgot it was the Republicans who argued for and passed the Community Reinvestment Act. The Democrats fought it tooth and nail, as did Janet Reno when she threatened the banks not to participate.

You must also forget that the Bush administration DIDN'T warn of the impending disaster of Freddie and Fanny in 2005. Barney Frank stood right there and plainly said in '05 that Freddie and Fannie were about to implode and should be regulated and investigated.

Hell, I'm a far right Conservative and even I know that the housing bubble was all the Republicans fault.

Well I guess all you guys are just going to turn this into a Republican vs. Democrat thing. I could care less who is in the White House. Sure, they may help to pass things and they are our countries representative, but Obama has even shown that just anybody can do his job, as long as you know how to dodge questions and try to be a rock star.

I'm appalled that our congress is behaving the way it is! They are supposed to be representing the people of the United States, not just passing whatever the hell Murtha "thinks" would be best for us. Footage like this should be evidence to have people like these hangged from the nearest tree!

So the republicans shout "NO", and that's somehow supposed to convince us that there were more nays than yeas? We couldn't see how many yeas stood up, or how many nays stood up. FWIW, it's customary for the chair to count the number of yeas and nays BEFORE a voice vote (or any vote, for that matter), so they go to the floor with a good idea of how many will vote for or against. As Murtha states in the video, he thinks the final vote will reflect the voice vote allowing the measure to go forward.
