Ha-ha. Why doesn't he want them around anymore? too sketchy? I'm sure if the person is reasonable it shouldn't be a problem. How many plants are you growing exactly?

Only growing four...in my closet, out of sight completely. Literally no one close to me knows about them besides him and my girlfriend, and they aren't dumb enough to talk about it to others.
He's a big worrier...I guess I can't blame him. He doesn't smoke and isn't interested in trying it at all. But, I suppose I have to respect his opinion as he is my best friend and room mate after all.
I would try to convince him otherwise, but I guess I don't want to get him angry or make him feel like he can't talk to me about this kind of stuff.

but if he does, could be bad
when you say room mate, do you mean exactly that, or flat mate?
if the latter, say no more, leave you plants hidden as they are and pretend there's nothing growing any more
else unless his reasoning is valid, i'd tell him to stuff it, if only he knows (and your gf) then he has nothing to worry about. what a gay situation to find yourself in
and don't listen to the above, 1 plant is NEVER enough, less we're talking an FDD tree

Listen guys, he has equal say in the appt and equal right to say he wants or doesn't want them in the appt, it's common courtesy to abide by this.
The only solution is either compromise or someone leaves, sit down straight up with him and figure it out, if you're dead set on growing, bring it to the
table and see what needs to be done. You can't tell him to go fuck off, or do it in spite of that, it isn't fucking cool. I'd personally either try to move
or have him move, if he wasn't cool with it before it'll probably be a hard time making him 100% okay with it afterwards.

If you stand your ground like said but retain an open mind and the willingness to compromise I'm sure assuming he is even a fraction reasonable, that it'll be fine.

U guys sound like shitty friend. OP +rep to u for being possibly the most considerate man ever. He doesn't want to challenge it out of respect for a friends wishes and to avoid making him feel like he can't talk to him about things of this nature. I say u tell everyone here to fuck off and go with ur original plan and maybe suggest different living arrangements. But u can bet ur ass those plants hold ZERO priority when it comes to a TRUE friend. Much respect for the way u think of things its nice to see now adays. U guys don't even know how many people I've shunned and blown off in my life for a plant only to end up taking out an ad in craigslist for a caretaker when I was diagnosed because I had shunned and pissed away anyone important to me. I can tell u now I'd take a true friend over any fuckin number of plants take it from a man who is dying alone.... It sucks to die alone... Keep ur friend dude u can always germ another seed but u don't find true homies hanging from trees.

Yeah, I don't like the situation, personally. But he doesn't use marijuana so I don't think he really understands. To be perfectly honest, there is no possible way that anyone would know about this *knocks on wood*, because you can only smell them in my room and no where else. Lots of things make him pretty uncomfortable, and this is a big one for him. I smoke marijuana very lightly, once or twice a week, usually to help me fall asleep, but it still bugs him. He is my best friend and I have to respect that. But, on the flip side, I have a pretty bad ass girlfriend
Neither of us own the space we rent...another company does. Marijuana is decriminalized here, but he still freaks out about it. They are still immature plants, anyways.
My girlfriend volunteered to put them in her closet across town so I think we're okay. I just have to think of some crazy ideas to transport some vegging Chocolate Chunk plants around, and get my cabinet out of here.

Oh, and by room mate, I mean apartment-mate. We don't literally share the same room.

Ya man thats a shitty situation but friendship is more important then a couple plants. Do you have the plants in a cabinet? Do you guys throw big partys, or do anything that could warnt the cops coming into your house? Cause if they are in a cabinet in your closet and you did get busted you could just take all the blame and act like he didnt know anything about it, then even if they drug test him he will pass, they will believe him and he should be scott free.
