Looking for the best strain for SOG highest yeild. I just ordered elephant purple and NEW white widdow from BC Seeds.

I realize neither of these may be the best, but just using them for now until i get my op situated.

I am newer to this, and am looking for highest yeilds possible per square foot and over the shortest amount of time.

Strains recomended from BCseeds.com would be my first choice, but all ideas welcome.

Al Fuct mentioned sweet tooth #4 in his sog grow, but i cant find those seeds anywhere.

Thanks guys.

I assume its hard to clone an autoflower?

WHat if the plant was kept in a veg light cycle.... it will still flower regardless? I know once a plant flowers, its hard to clone.
u cant clone autoflowers and they flower in veg light cycles, thats y they r called autoflowers.. they flower automaticaly when its ready, not when u r.. so if its not the size u want it to be, too bad, ur loss

i guess to get u started it would be quicker but in the long run it wouldnt... after u have a mom u can flower as soon as clones root, thats what a sog is.. autoflowers have to veg so ur seed is still gonna take say 4-5 mnths to finish as ur newly rooted clones will take 2mnth... its a process to get goin but worth it

so lets say a person bought the seeds... whats the chances of them being male and messing up a whole crop?

I think i would prefer to clone on a non autoflower strain... idk, depends on how expensive the seeds are and how hard they are to get.

who sells this twista 108?

yeah, in that case lets rule autoflowers out for now...

Lets hear some more strains :)

i dont know about the autoflower strands and its female garentees.. i dont like them... the only thing i see them good for is to start them early spring indoors, put them outdoors and harvest earlier in the year... or if u only had 1 room or 1 light, u could keep the lights on a veg cycle and still harvest saving space, hydro, and the costs of more lights and gear... a few places sell twista 108, i ordered from "pick n mix seeds"... google that and or twista 108 and check it out... sounds very apealing, hopefully its as good as it sounds... oh, i always order form pick n mix, takes a lil longer but i like ordering single seeds to test and im happy with there service and discretee delivery.. they deal with like 25 well known seed bank including greenhouse, nirvana, barneys farm ect.. they r like a middle man with fair prices(like a $1 or 2 more then the other guys in most cases)... useing pick n mix u could order 1 seed of like 5 strains that intrest u and stay with the 1 that suites u... "pick n mix" ur order

...hey bud. Try Sensi seeds "Big Bud" :weed:...and when you do, you'll be needing a few bamboo sticks per plant due to the side shoots. The buds are very dense and the bud smells like a dead skunk!:spew:....that's my favorite cash cropper! :hump:

yeah, ive heard of big bud, now these sticks... are they to hold the side branches from drooping to the ground?

In sea of green, i thought the common was to clip off the lower 1/3 of the plant and just focus on the main top cola?

Like i said, im new, so correct me if im off.

(btw, bc seeds says that the elephant line produces more, and quicker than the big bud strain does... and they sell big bud, so its not like they are bashing a competitor. However, plant type and size (height, width, other charactersistics) can make it good for SOG or not so good. This is all info i have gathered from reading the forum AFTER i have already ordered my seeds) :/

yes u remove the botom to focus on the main cola... the sticks r to hold up ur plant cuz the buds will be heavy and masive... my violater kush is like that... i would sog it but the plant doesnt grow very bushy making it hard to get many clippings off it regularly

OK

As for autoflowering strains go, they use to be very crappy. However with a few good strain companies and individuals working with them getting better genetics and more consistent results is finally showing in todays market.

I am currently growing autoflowering plants... I am doing it as a step up kinda deal. You see you can harvest a few good quality strains in less then 10 weeks and thats both veg and flower included!! (not drying and curing though)

Reasons for autoflowering?

1] only one light and one grow space, granted you could veg then flower, but then you have long times in between harvest.

2] Automatically develops when grown outside in proper conditions

3] Needs less space thus more plants can be planted and you can make harvest every week if spaced out correctly!

4] Able to harvest quicker then most non auto plants out there

...5... so many more points can be made

There is some ak47, blueberry, and kush strains out there that are auto...They may not be AS POTENT as actual strain alone without any autoflowering genetics. However they are still good quality and offer bang for your buck!

Expensive? Not really you can get them at the same price as your other seeds. You can even go with regular seeds and do a seed run afterwards. There is already someone here on RIU that is doing a 100 plant start run using autos...Look at all the success have posted on autoflowers on RIU... granted a few have had problems.. but keep in mind genetics, and other conditions must be taken into consideration before bashing autoflowering plants.

My Reason for using autos? Well once I get thisharvest done from the autos.. I will have some good bud in a short amount of time... with some to sell to get more equipment such as another light and grow tent for flower room. With that being said... I also plan on having some regular strains growing as well, so come time to flower they will have had plenty of time to veg out. My goal here is to create a consistent harvest once a week and potentially work more with non autoflowering strains.

You can look at my sig below and see my current auto grows. I have Short Rider reg seeds from Nirvana in a DWC and 1 in soil. I also have Buddha Red Dwarf Auto Fem, A unknown purple strain (non auto), ak47 auto fem, and soon snow cap strain. I am hoping to get a male so that I can cross the auto with the ak47. People say its hard to breed autos...but if your breeding a auto w auto.. your gonna get better results. So if it does work out I can get more seeds, and not have to order more.

I look at ordering seeds, a cost that is a must for good genetics. Unless your fortunate enough to have good friends with access to that kind of stuff or good clones. I purchased my seeds from attitude and I am impressed...

100 seeds???? thats not expensive??? i could pull a major cash crop with 10 seeds and sum time... 1 if i really wanna be patient and wait... like i said, to get u started ya but u could veg and flower normal seeds in 10 weeks as well... imo, its only good if u have 1 room or 1 light to work with to get a perpetuating crop... im not disputing there quaility, its jus a system that doesnt work for me... i like to clone and replace my moms or put them out side in the spring and grow monsters aswell

He didnt buy 100 seeds he did a seed run. I am just saying you can have these in addition to what ever you are going to do.. as they will help bring in more consistent harvest as you wait for the other plants to finish from flowering.

ohhhh.. my bad.. and i do see ur point, dont get me wrong... i jus perfer normal seeds doin normal stuff.. i like to be in control of what they do rather then them control me

lol sounds ocd to me.. DUde i know what your saying.. but to have GOOD POTENT bud in less then 12 weeks is great! I am growing in a Moonshine soil mix.. using foxfarms line of soil and perlite.. and its all organic..If growing soil, I recm. ff if you got the money. You get some of the best tasting buds doing soil grow especially organic.

I rec. going to attitude seed bank, perhaps buy a couple of single autoflower seeds and buy what you really want that finishes quickly. I think you can find some really good short flowering strains on there site. That way you can get you a consistent harvest going on some non auto plants and perhaps see how those autos treat ya!

not sure im following this autoflower stuff...

why couldnt a person just flower a NON autoflower plant... whenever they want?

Like Al B Fuct does... he takes his plants straight from clone box to a 12/12 hps light, and starts budding from week 2 of the clones new life.

Why would auto bud plants produce any faster than non autobud plants when we have control over the lights (sure, outside i could see their advantage, but not indoors)

Al is harvesting a clone every 8 weeks... so he has 4 stages, or a harvest every 2 weeks.

Thus, the ADVANTAGE of a 10 week, auto flower... does NOT make sense to me at all.

Further... one could get non autoflower seeds, and pay less... so if one was to start from seeds, why would they waste the money on autoflowers?

Ive been known to miss the boat a few times... so if im way off here, let me know...
