Grow Detection

I don't know whether to believe my stepmom or not about this new way to detect a grow. she told me that it's possible to detect a grow from the THC on the plant. Even if you have the heat detection under control or in a grow tent, they detect the plants hormones or something along those lines. I'm searching for more information to post and if any has any input please fill me in I'de like to know. bongsmilie

I say bullshit. Thats way to much technology to invent for lil ol weed growers . Hell It will be legal in all your states before too long the way its goin. I believe you have 14 states that allow medical marijuana and 12 more considering it.

Hyperspectral Optical Technology is a sensor system which detects hundreds of "spectra" or measurements of reflected or emitted energy. Scanning many channels across a narrow bandwidth, the sensor system is able to provide detailed information on about target's spatial and spectral patterns. The system works by breaking the optical spectrum into as many as 30 unique colours at a rate of 30 times per second. The sensor quantifies the spectra energy in each image and than builds a filter which is "tuned" to the specific target. For specifically marijuana further processing is needed, but from an elevation of 5,000 feet or in horizontal position several hundred yards this sensor is able to detect marijuana. Even through heavy vegetation, it is able to differentiate between recreational cannabis and industrial cannabis, due to specific objects and substances having unique "spectral signatures". Natural, man-made objects, different vegetation and even various types of building material can be detected. In a high elevation it is able detect chemical or biological weapons, run bomb damage assessment of underground structures, and foliage penetration to detect troops and vehicles movement.
UAVs In a Mississippi town called "A precious coin in the purse of the South.", named after a spanish coin by the french inhabitants of New Orleans, Picayuna has one of the newest method of law enforcement. A Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or UAV is semi-autonomous robot which flys around and with the use of sensors spies on civilians. Air-O-Space teamed up with the Picayune Police Department to conducting information gathering and surveillance, or in other words used the UAVs to search for, locate, and videotape marijuana fields, in the name of the "War against Drugs". The use of UAVs is likely to become more apparent, especially in nations which police spy on their citizens

Is it not an invasion of privacy for that UAV to do that? or.......

from what i understand. they use FLIR to bust many outdoorcrops. the fact it gives off a certain heat pattern/wavelenght usually indicates it COULD be what they are looking for.
however my research also tells me other plants give off the same signals but its obvious when there is ROW upon ROW of perfectly sowed weed in the middle of nowhere, that it cant be much else.
therefore backyard grows are relatively safe, as long as your not trying to cover half your backyard.
as for indoor, that would be more of a heat thing, rather than detecting any plants.
i cant think of any way possible to measure THC from a distance, let alone from a chopper LOL. maybe in 20yrs but not anytime in the imeadiate future.
obviously its all just my opinion, but i look at things logically and come up with my own conclusion rather than take every article i read like the bible.

IN an outdoor grow, i guess they could also be looking for water areas that have moisture in the soil...areas that shouldn't, unless it's being routed there by someone.

Could give off different heat patterns as the water is evaporating, because lets face it, a 10' tall sative is gonna need a shit ton of aqua.

But the notion that the DEA is or has implemented something like this, is absurd.

It's total BS, my friend, this thing that breaks down all the wavelengths of light, etc, etc. It's a bunch of science-ish sounding gobbledygook. You should read the "scientific" docs on those radio-antenna boxes they sell to the Iraqi government to detect bombs and guns and all kinds of stuff. America keeps telling them that they are nothing more than scams, techy-looking divining rods. And they cost $thousands each. But they still keep buying them and giving them to their police to use, who then get blown up. They've spent tens or hundreds of millions of our money on them.

LOL, here some parents make a web site with info on this new great gizmo to find weed. Then they show it to other parents and start spreading the word that this is so real, you better watch out. Then the government contacts the web site and wants to buy thousands of them! So the parents figure what the heck? -and sell them little boxes with a red light and a radio antenna and a bunch of nonsense wiring inside for $thousands each and become hugely rich!

But then, being rich distracts them from their kids who go on to be alcoholics and die young.
