Touche. I tend to trust Jorge when it comes to all things cannabis. So I apologise for being difficult.

I'll happily concede that a fully mature plant will have a fuller phychoactive profile than one barely out of the seedling stage, but, i'm sure we can agree, that doesn't in any way equal more glandular trichomes.

My beef was with statements made by Highlanders Cave.

Clone the shit out of everything and with each generation of clones your buds will get, almost inpercievably, a little frostier and a little harder.
Quite simply, the older a plant is, is in direct correlation with the amont of trichomes it produces, and that theory (lol as you call it) continues with each generation.
Neither of these statements are true.
In fact, in cases where one (or multiple) generations of clones are subjected to stress, genetic degradation can take place, causing a decrease in vigour, resistance to disease or trichome development. So "cloning the shit out of" your plants might not neccesarily be beneficial.

Apologies to the OP for the complete hijack. I just need to salvage some of my unchecked ego.

Absolutely, I love a little spirited debate!!

No beef at all. I'm all about the love, not the hate.

ill mention it here, even tho its a bit out of place...

but does anyone KNOW as fact which hydroponic system grows plants the fastest?

my friend claims NFT does.

Im a pretty inventive person, and if nft is the best... ive come up with a new way of doing it instead of narrow gutters.

I will be building it soon, and start a thread for that build... i think it will be a smash hit... i almost want to keep the device secret for myself... once you see it, you will wonder why no one thought of or marketed it sooner.

Reson i mention this... sog is typically used with ebb and flow, or just plain pots of dirt...

i think that will change soon... if infact nft is better... no more gutters and filler rocks, and im thinking i can build a hydro system that holds 150+ plants in a 8x4 area... AND GIVE THE PLANTS ROOTS MORE ABSORBTION SPACE THAN A 6" ROCKWOOL CUBE currently does... which would be one up on the 4x8 table, or 128 rockwool setup does.

Ill keep you posted.

In the meantime... any other good strains we should know about for sog?

jus fed um today the combo of bio-bloom an top-maxx (10 ml each). i wanna get the bushmaster cuz i wanna see if that packs on some weight for the babies. but the mollasses alone with the early fish mix has fattened um up real nicely. but definitely give bio-bizz line a lookin at. i like humbolt for the additives cuz those guys out there really must know wut there doin. it comes from the emerald triangle, plus ive seen journals with guys who have used it on 1 plant and not the other an there is a big difference in size alone. oh i just planted 3 dieselryder fems and 2 more fem hindu's. makes 24 fems under 1200 watts now. since i planted 5 more 2 gallon pots in the tents. i got two more 600 watt cool tubes from the hydro store today, didnt want to wait on htgsupply this time cuz its the end of the week an i needed the extra 200 per tent now since i have 24 fems sog style in each tent!!! enjow, jus foiled the biggins with purp maxx today as well. light sprinkle. stopping at week six. jus adding to water after then

I know this thread is old, but I was looking up SOG strains and doing some research before I order seeds this week, and I wanted to possibly clear something up. (Check my grow log in the my sig.)

Anyway, I agreed with SpruceZeus and I still do. I'll admit, I thought you and Highlander might have been right when you first posted the info in your link. :bigjoint:

However, I suspect Jorge wasn't detailed enough in his description. I read the page as well as the ones before and after to make sure I was reading everything in context. From what I gather he's first stating the obvious that a six month old plant will outproduce a one month old plant in cannabinoids. Then he states that by cloning, a grower is planting a new plant that will grow to identical potency, but far more rapidly than a plant the same size grown from seed.
Think about it, what happens to a cannabis plant left to grow after it's finished flowering? I'm sure someone with more information could chime in on this, but since it has nothing to do with the thread title I don't think that's gonna happen. Anyway, happy growing. Peace
