If searching and the FAQ doesn't help you then you should change hobbies... Perhaps knitting or reading.

Just dont know how to go about it as far as timing everything out, keeping a mother or not, where to cut and alot of other shit. Right now i have one big tent that i veg and flower from seed in. But i have the room and cash to setup a cloning/mother tent just not the knowledge.

Ill be specific, say i top eight 3 week old plants above the 2nd node. Can i use those cuttings as clones. If yes, then how big will those cuttings be 70 days later when i harvest the topped plants and my big tent is empty? How big of a tent will i need to house the cuttings? How much light? Do folks do it this way, without actually keeping a mother?

Theres plenty of you tube vidios on cloneing. They show you how and what you will need plus you can understand it better watching someone else doing it.

1) Yes
2) As big as you can get them - four feet-ish, if need be. Maybe more. How tall can a seedling of the strain you're growing get in seventy days? Add some (16.7%) to that.
3) You should be safe with a veg chamber about a half as big as your flowering chamber. Even smaller depending on how efficient you can be.
4) You can do it with fluoros, but 70 days (IMHO) necessitates the use of HID for vegging.
5) Yes, many folks do it this way, "sans mother".

Thanks! And i dont hand out exclamation points ever. Last question. Does the cutting take time to root before it grows vertically or does it just take off like any sprout thats a week or so old?

Yes, it'll take about 10-14 days to grow a decent root system, at which time it will grow faster then a seedling of comparable height.

The spacing between nodes will also be smaller.

I appreciate it.

Ive been trying to come up with a plan on how to execute this so i no longer have to buy seeds and this is what im thinking. Will it work great or is there a more efficient way? Anything to add?

Ill buy a xs (1.9x1.9x3.9) tent and will grow my last bb x nl seed in a fairly small pot and call her my 1st mother. Ill start her from seed 1 month before my big tent that i use for veg and flower becomes empty. As soon as its empty i will take 8 cuttings off the mother/last bbxnl seed. I will then immediately place 7 of those cuttings and the original mother in my big tent and grow them to completion. This will leave me one cutting in my small tent who will become my new mother. I will keep her under 2- 42w cfls for 18/6 for the next 100 or so days until i complete another harvest and need 8 more cuttings.

What do you guys think?

Question: How big does a female need to be for her to supply 8 healthy cuttings?
