Humidity

Shouldn't a person maintain a fairly low consistant humidity thruout the grow, say around 40%? vegging and flowering, to keep your weed potency up. I just checked a room I knew I was having not the best luck with, bought a therm/humid and im at 82% with the main light off.
I grew some last year and was dissappointed, it was potent at all. and Im thinking that this was my problem. I got an outside inlet for outside air put in with a little fan in front, and i still need to put a vent next to the ceiling to vent the room. And I suppose I'll buy a dehumidfier to help control as well. Does this sound like im on the right track? Help, I'm confused.

the last crop I did looked great, and smelled spicy, but took a hog leg of smokin to get a tick. My humidity had to have been about the same then, running around 60 to 80% during the flowering process, do you think that would destroy the potency of the pot?

After I water I have 95% humidity for a while, several hours before it falls into the eighties to high seventies, Not very often that I can get it in the 60% range, The plants seem to be doing fine, there green and stuff but is this stunting there growth and going to hurt my plants? I got ventilation in my room but only on fan bring air in, I know i need more. Oh well, any comment would be much appreciated. Thanks

You want your humidity to be higher in veg than flower for various reasons. Supposedly higher humidity will help give more females from seed. Too high and the plants can't transpire which can stunt growth. In flowering you want lower humidity mainly to keep mold and fungal infections at bay. Really low humidity in flowering like 30% and below supposedly makes the plants more potent but it's mainly genetics that determines potency. If you are smoking a lot to get high I'm guessing you have a high tolerance or you have some low potency genetics that you are working with. I recommend getting some good seeds off of a reputable breeder and try that. And try to get your humidity in check because that is just way too high. Best of luck my friend.
