led's will be the biggest waste of money they cost so much for a single watt 42$ but i would go cfl's that's the best way and it's more money efficient then anything else really
hope this helped just a little

i don't know much about led's

led's are more expensive then hps and hids and even if you had hps or hids you would still end up paying the same

ie: led's are just as much as the electric bill will be. so it's a hard choice the only good thing about leds is once you have it. you have it for a long time so i guess if you grow a lot it'll be more productive

If you truely want to change to LED's (do your research first this shit is expensive) then the only way to go is with the 1 watt LED's I have not found a large panel that uses these, only the UFO's. Alot of the very large panels are 30 watts. One of the UFO 90's is 90 watts, May be smaller, but will actually work. The 30 watt panels are junk. 1 watt per LED or nothing is what i say. (if it is a 300 led panel it needs to be 300 watts)

I agree. The one-watt LED seems to be efficient for plants - and there are three and six watts also. Anything less - like 1/110th of a watt on those panels are of no use, other than decorative.
I use eBay a lot, for all kinds of purchases - my LEDs included. Reputable enough for me. I got three UFOs from different manufacturers, through different vendors.
All of them are bright as hell. My setup is really small, so I'd like one UFO pr plant. You're talking larger space - so more light. Maybe 1/2 to 1/3 of what you would do in HID for a similar space.

do ufo's work for both veg and flowering?
The UFOs aren't that expensive. I get mine on eBay between $125-$150 delivered. They come in different configurations single color, like red blue or orange, or a combination thereof. Some also add white. It's hard to know how efficient they are, say compared to a 400 HID, since I don't have that, but I started blooming under two UFOs of the tri-band type, which are supposed to work for both veg and flower, and I'd say it works well.
OK - just picked up my camera, so you can see for yourself. The babies are six days since seed, under one UFO. I use a CFL to balance the light in the picture.
The blooming plant is 60 days from seed today, and 6 days into flowering, which appears to be coming along just fine.
