I often get the impression that many people here are quite young. I for one would like to know if I am speaking to a young person or an older one. So please list your age. That way we know what to expect from the person we are talking to.

I am over 40.
How would you know what to expect from someone, based on age?
Stupid comes in all ages. And smarts.
Besides that I agree with you that it would be nice, but it sure didn't seem to turn this forum on.
I'm over 40 also. How much over 40 are you?

Why should anyone on here have to state their age? I don't think that age is the issue here. The matter at hand involve levels of maturity, respect, and intelligence.

Most on RIU are simply immature and disrespectful.

Personally, I like to look at someone's history of threads and posts to find out a little about them. I think that you can tell a lot about a person by looking at how they play with others. I look at how they type (if u typ lik dis den c u l8r) and how they communicate and exchange information. Its interesting to watch the drastic change from the first post to the last. Most people are quick to give advice but are offended when it is offered. It is often true that the worse the typing skills the more immature the typer.

This is just what i think though... I can tell who it is worth to talk to or not by reading what they've written. Just because we're all hiding behind computers doesn't mean that all aspects of our personality are wiped away. in fact, the type of person you are becomes very obvious when other people are reading what you've written.

True. All of us real heads can tell who's who.

Before you attempt to belittle people with your massive pseudo intellect you need to take a few English lessons... Collage is an art technique, College is an institution of learning.
And now I know for sure that you're a raging liberal punk. Only those on the far left ever point out spelling errors. Its done in an attempt to denigrate the opposition when one cannot win an argument through logic. So, continue on Mr. English teacher. :blsmoke:

i suppose that depends on my definition of "a while", which side of seventy-five you're on and how choosy my mother was.
LMAO!! Good one, undertheice.

Let's see, how old am I?

Well, I remember when most of the cars parked at the curb had running boards.

I remember when all airplanes had propellers.

I remember when it was perfectly OK for a boy to take a pocket knife to school.

I remember my parents friends in their Marine uniforms looking so proud right before they were sent off to fight the "Yellow Peril" or the Nazis.

I remember when I, and none of my friends had a TV. We listened to the radio. I could hardly wait to get home from school to listen to Captian Midnight and Red Ryder.

I remember first-run Hopalong Cassidy films at the Saturday movies. Double features plus a news-reel ... all for twenty-five-cents.

I remember walking down to the store for my Mom to buy milk and bread. Milk was fifteen cents a quart and bread was a dime a loaf.

I remember when a man's word was his bond and a handshake was a contract.

I remember when, if a kid got out of hand in public, and the parents weren't around, another adult, a complete stranger, would correct the kid and put him in his/her place.

That's it for now ... but I AM from a different era for sure. :)

i understand that. either way, you learned to spell correctly. today, kids have spell check and text messaging. old men who chicken peck on a keyboard still spell better than the young one who types sixty words a minute.

No one seems to want to share any personal details on this site. I think the expectation people come here with is that they will learn how to grow and keep up to date on methods and techniques. With the laws and police the way they are you can't be surprised people aren't willing to share their personal information on this site. At least we can share our grow trials and techniques. I think that is all that can be expected from this site. I am 27
