OK, let me tell you where I am at on my grow and with feeding.
And I am going out on a limb here too.

I did order and receive the ADVANCED NUTRIENTS.
I was told by many growers that use them that they will balance the pH for you and you can toss the pH UP and the pH Down if you use Advanced Nutrients.
Sounded good to me, so I ordered the BLOOM, and they came in two one gallon jugs, labeled Part A and Part B. The instructions say to add them separately to the tank and make the ppm 800 to 900 per reservoir or 1.8 tablespoon per gallon of water.
That was simple enough.

I noticed that one container contained NO Nitrogen, and very high on Phosperous and very little Potassium.
The other container was High on Nitrogen, Low on Phosperous and High on Potassium.
Hmmmmm??? Nitrogen in Bloom Nutes?????

ADVANCED NUTRIENTS is one of the very few nutrients sold and labeled that they are made especially for marijuana growing.

Hhhhhmmmm? Bloom Nutes High in Nitrogen??????

The container labeled High in Nitrogen looks like Liquid Karma, it is a brown liquid and not thin either. I decided to remain loyal to my SH pre-packaged nutes for this grow, but I wanted to try the ADVANCED NUTRIENTS, so I used them ONLY in my 5 gallon experimental bucket.

After two days, I noticed a couple of changes.
One, first thing I noticed is they started having a stronger skunk smell again, like when they were in the VEG cycle. A few days after I first started the BLOOM nutes , the strong smell diminshed. After adding the Advanced Nutrients with Nitrogen, the bad stink came back And strong too.
Two, secondly I noticed that the the lower third of the plant's leaves QUIT having dying off, falling off, yellowing leaves. I was averaging 3 or 4 leaves a day falling off, and suddenly NONE fell off. They quit yellowing and falling off.
Three, I noticed all kinds of new green leaves growing out of the flowers or bud sites.

Hhhhmmmm, had to be the Nitrogen!

So I spent almost an entire day googling and searching for info on adding Nitrogen during the Flowereing Cycle. VERY INTERESTING.
I ALSO LOOKED THROUGH 4 BOOKS. All I could find is advice saying DO NOT ADD VEG NUTES(Nitrogen) DURING THE BLOOM CYCLE, because of the affect on TASTE. There was no other reason NOT to do it.

So, I asked some expert growers.
Uncle Ben says he always adds a small amount of Nitrogen nutes to the Bloom Cycle and none of his lower leaves yellow and fall off.
A nameless large outdoor commerical grower that I know told me he digs a giant hole and throws all the dirt away and fills the hole back up with an assortment of different soils, peat moss, all kinds of different manure and bat poop and all kinds of nitrogen. He said when his plants naturally go to 12/12, they never shed a lower leaf. He never adds any phosperous or anything else either. He grows those 15 to 20 foot tall trees too.
He said he does not flush them, how could he flush an outdoor tree in soil? And he says that he never gets any nitrogen-fertilizer taste in his buds either.

And in my asking around, many indoor hydro growers say their secret trick is to add a little Nitrogen during BLOOM to get larger buds and a larger harvest.

So, on my other two tanks, when I added one gallon of water back, I added 1/6 packet of VEG nutes. Now they are not shedding any leaves and the bud sites are rapidly filling in too.

And they are all stinking to high heaven.

I am not suggesting or recommending that you do the same thing and add Nitrogen nutes to the Bloom Cycle. I might really be making a mistake. The buds might taste aweful later.
I might stop bud growth, I don't know for sure.
This is just an EXPERIMENT.

A little help here guys...
Ok if you guys remember I made a low profile DWC cloner. Well it didnt work. I guess the D in DWC matters lol. It was just deep enough to cover the air stone. I dont think the air was passing through enough water to oxygenate it. I scraped that plan and made a new one from a rubbermaid tub like everyone else uses. I just couldnt find a irrigation hub in my area so I just put a sprinkler head on the water pump like the rain forest bucket plus the airstone. But instead of only 4 spots I have 10. I have it going 24hr but think I may want a timer. Any input on that? is the sprinkler going 24hr ok because it has so plenty of oxygen in it or will it be to much and drown the clones and seedlings? I have been out of town but ill post some pics of it when I get home

Is your sprinkler head adjustable as to flow rate? If so get it down to a trickle and place the feeder to in the middle of the side of the rockwool. Either way, it needs to be on 24/0. Most never put the hub on a timer.

Roots are brown again but not slimy, smells fine in there and temps have never gotten out of range, never even above 70. Ph is fine. I'm using the GH line. Anybody ever experience root discoloration? I'm guessing it's my micro?

I've got a question for anyone with a tent, where does your exhaust go to? I've got an extra office about 10x8 with two windows to the outside. I'm afraid of venting it outside though because of the heat signature i guess? is there another way to vent inside the same room? I was reading that recycling the air in your tent into the same room and having an intake is a recipe for disaster. I'm really trying to plan this thing through, before anything is bought, thanks in advance

DS,

It probably is the micro. They stain mine brown toward the end of a grow. Smell the water. Is it stinky or fresh. If it smells like fresh cut lettuce then you're golden.

I don't have a tent but have seen many that do. Most vent from the top hole in the tent and put a filter on the blower so that the smell is non-existant and it just pumps hot air. It is relatively small heat by the volume of your room so it shouldn't raise the temp much if at all. Trick is to get a big enough exhaust fan/blower so it can still draw the air out through the filter. The filters generally restrict flow.

cool, thanks MC, but one more question more than likey I'll be growing in the silver edition hydrohut, it's 3x3x78. I want to get a 6" inline can fan with a carbon filter, I believe the fan is 440cfm, it's a high output, do you think that'll be good enough? also it'll be a 400W hps for the lighting.

Should be plenty. I use a 273 cfm blower for my 400 hps but don't have a filter ( lucky me - vented to attic). That 440 ought to be able to pull a golfball through a garden hose! LOL!

Hey Grownavy, didn't I answer this question way back on page 37? https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/220083-bubblehead-gang-37.html

You basically need a 275 cfm fan for that tent, so 440 cfm is more than adequate. But if you're going to use that powerful of a fan you need to make sure your inlet is big enough to support it, at least 2 times the size of the fan - a 6" fan is 19 square inches, so you need at least a 38 square inch inlet, something like 4" x 10". If your inlet is too small the fan will strain and be real noisy.

As far as venting into the room, this is fine if the room is big enough or air-conditioned. I'm not sure you even need to worry about the heat signature created by one 400-watt bulb, though; so long as you've got the smell covered you should be fine venting outside in my opinion - but you know what is best for your particular situation.

Yeah you did Dystopia, I actually forgot what page it was on. lol. I'm just picking up where I left off for preparation purposes you know. give a squid a break!! geez. lol. I appreciate all the help though you guys, I swear I don't know what I'd do without ya.

One more thing MC, you suggested those valuline fans a while back, how loud are they? and I'm changing my tent specs a bit. It'll be 3x3x6 now instead of the 4x4x6. I think I'll take Dystopia's advice and just get 2 of those 4" fans, 1 for the hood, and one for the scrubber, now my next question is do i have to get duct reducers for the hood, or is there a 4" flange that comes with a decent reflector that you know about? I believe the fans are 171cfm, will that be sufficient enough for the setup?

The fans are not loud at all. Mine sits about 10' from me in another room and I can't hear it.

My blower has a 4" intake so I stuck a 4"-6" reducer/expander (Lowe's - about $10) and ran it to my 6" cool tube.

This is a great thread and debate on Lollipopping and removing Fan leaves.
Uncle Bena nd Brick Top are the two senor growers, and much more experienced and knowledgable than the young whipper snappers doing all the argueing.

I watched my X-wife do a lolipopping grow, and she barely got an onuce per plant after Vegging 5 weeks nd Blooming 9 weks.

I know from experience that lollipopping is as dumb and unproductive a thing anyone could do to get a large yield. Maybe in a SOG lowryder only want one cola grow, it is OK.

Check it out, it is a long read, but very educational.
Uncle Ben is famous for TOPPING knowledge and for adding Nitrogen to the Bloom nutes.

question about advanced nutrients 3 part series. do you use the 1-1-1 ratio or what? that is what i am doing but fell like i am giving to much grow. will this slow down flowering or hurt in any way? btw i just use the micro-bloom-grow that's it oh an cal-mag.

In my tent I have the fan on 24/7 pulling hot smelly through a carbon filter then through the light. Into the fan then out the top of the tent making all connections with 4" flexible ducts. That just blows into the room the tent is in. I keep my windows open all the time because I live in Hawaii and heat doesnt build up in the room at all. My max temps are 80 even when its warmer outside. I also have a flexible 6" duct for my passive intake. Hope this helps

Thanks for the help Mongobud and Roseman. I got the clones from the co-op and do not know if they were fed. I put them right into stealth. The temp in the room is 76-78 with a humidity of 40(dry). Do the plants look like they are in shock do to being fed with the exception of a few--see pictures. Do I need to get new clones or will these come around. I am using 2 85watt spectrum 2 lights 5-6 inches above plants.

Thanks again guys ~ all assistance is appreciated!! BC :bigjoint:

They look good in pic 3 and 4. 1 and 2 have problems but it is probably shock which means they'll get over it. Do you have your feeder tubes half way down butted to the cube? Is the flow just over a trickle?
