i've never grown anything before i have a 4x6 room with a 400w mh open reflector i'm using potting soil mixed 50% with perlite i have 6, 17 inch plants i started from seeds on oct 10 i just got a soil meter and my ph is 5.5 is that ok or what do i need to do?
i got some clones the other day there in some coconut stuff and there ph is 6?
i have miracle grow quick starter i'm mixing it 50% of what they say and using it for every other water like once every 4 days?
i have M.Grow liquafeed all plant food how much do i add to a gallon of water and how often do i use it?
thanks a ton this is the best site,i'd like to learn from the pro's here right now i'm on a very tight budget but if i can get the first harvest i'll invest what i need to do a better job next time.

well, do they look stretched out? if not then ur doing ok....

for nutes remember to make the nute mixture, then use the ph drops to test it... and adjust it accordingly....

okie dokie budget in mind... 5.5 & 6.5 are pretty much the optimum ph. do your best to keep it above 5.00 & below 7.00 so to stick to that budget ph down= apple cider vinegar(also has nice trace minerals) ph up= baking soda or lemon juice(not from concentrate) some people have a problem with theses methods but i have been using them for years and they work well for me anyhow.. as for giving them nutrients right now be careful not to burn with the M.G the bottle should have a mixing guide imo only mix 25% strength..because the M.G soil has fertilizers in it you risk build up that can lead to nutrient lock out or burn. let the soil dry out almost completely to help avoid this. as soon as you get some cash flow i would steer clear of M.G nutrients and soil if possible..check out earth juice its cheap and forgiving and non chemi..hope that helps some

think baking soda might bring it up but im not sure how safe it is for plants if your using tap water its probably a little high so if your soils low youll be good with tap like he said from 5.5 - 6.5 your good dont make any drastic changes
