you may want to search , i have read about this on other threads i don't think your in any danger of hurting your plants unless your soil is staying too damp

oh yeah the soil could be too damp. but i usually water every 4 or 5 days. i used to water everyday when i first started. but now i can tell by the top soil and the weight......im gonna search this. make sure im not smoking poison

you puchased crappy soil unfortunately. any mushrooms indicate a fully developed fungus below the soil surface. a mushroom is just the reproductive part of the fungus. i had them from that kellog(which is absolute garbage) brand of soil from homedepot. it came standard with thrips, fungus root gnats, and a fully developed mycellum. not to mention the fact that plants in it starve, and you have to feed twice as often.

no shit huh. go figure. this says a lot because last grow i used
pro mix i added perlite to.
worm castings, bone and blood meal, superthrive and bat guano from mexico. i added it all together mixed it and used that.
i know better than to buy shit dirt from home cheapo depot, but i was just to lazy to drive out the local hydro and pick up a bag of pro mix....thats what i get huh? and ill be first one to tell people not to chinse on the beggining stuff like soil. damd well im glad i only used it for one plant. now that i think of it. i also have gnatts flying around....im gonna kill off this plant and start again with the good shit this time...thats what i get for being lazy and doing shit i knew would come back to bite me. thanks guys.

man mushrooms aint gona hurt u or ur plant,,,
they arent necessarily there becuase of ur soil the mushroom spors culd have drifted in the breeze rite into ur pots,,
also mushrooms are decomposers they take dead organic matter breakit down and then return it to the soil...
i like the way they look so i wuld leave mine haha,, u culda had ur own colony of smurfs,,

i agree that the shrooms won't necessarily hurt the plant if they are there, they do however indicate soil that is far from a good clean growing condition. you do realize that mushrooms don't grow like normal plants? the bulk of the fungus is below the surface of the dirt. mushrooms only pop out when it is fully mature and ready to re-produce. this process is called "birthing" the spores fall out of the mushroom cap once it opens, when they then have the opportunity to land wherever and colonize if they can. it's not like a spore lands, and a mushroom grows up like as if it were a seed.

just in case you weren't aware.

my parents had a huge mushroom colony in their carpet from where their window air conditioner was leaking, they can grow just about anywhere imo. it was crazy, i went to see em one day and i was like "do you guys realize you've got like 20 5 inch mushrooms growing by your window in the carpet?" I removed em all for em and i got home and went to work w/my girls, a week later their were 2 real tiny lil shrooms growing in my one pot, i pulled em and never had a problem from them that i could see., but then you seem to have gotten yours from the soil i guess so its kinda different, i just felt like telling a story about mushrooms and growing and be one of the cool kids:lol::lol::lol:

ive been putting a whole lot of thought into growing some mushrooms. there are a few good tutorials on youtube that you can learn the process from. just need to get some spore prints.

i thimk about it alot too, it seems alot easier than growing bud from what research ive done on it but for some reason i still keep getting cold feet whenever ive finally decided to dive into the world of mushroom growing.

when mushrooms pop up in the yard after a rain it's from the rain water being acidity, i would be concerned if i had fungus spores growing in my soil.

it's comical if you think there isn't a fully developed fungus in your yard. :-P
that's the only way the mushrooms can grow
