Well, it sounds like you learned your own lesson. I've never been in your predicament, but I'm not sure it's possible to make someone believe you're not a punk - by texting them. I could be wrong about that.

Unfortunately, being family does not automatically make you trustworthy. Now you know. Personally, that's not enough money to make a stink about. Particularly given the family entanglement.

I would place this little event in the vault and go on with your life. He knows you will never back him if and when he needs it. He will eventually realize that the $1400 was not worth losing the trust of a family member, and it's resulting consequences. Word will get out and he'll either be shamed into paying you or not. You, on the other hand, come out looking like an adult who chose to keep the family peace rather than go gangster.

call his mom, and be nice about it.
people respond better to a smile than to a threat.

Act concerned for the person you loaned money to.
Dont seem greedy.
Go to there house stay calm and ask if everything is ok. Put the money second and it might just come to you.

they might have it in a day or a week.


if you want to go to dick move land.

I like etching paste on car windows and mirrors.
Calling child protective services on them. Whether they have kids or not.
If you can get their ssn you can take out lines of credit, and fuck them over.
illegally hook up one or more of their utilities and call the utility company.
Call animal control.
Put an add for a smoking hot car with a stupid low price and put their phone number with it. papers, craigslist...
You could file papers with small claims court and there is a good chance that the city/county court will get ahold of them and if they dont show for the court date than the govt says they owe you money legally. Good luck getting it though.
