Alright, I'll straight up say it, I had no gun, ever, in my dorm room, in my car, within 250 miles of the school. All my guns are at home and sure to remain there after this shit. Now look, this is how the casing got to school. I had a dresser with loads of shit on it, calculators, pens, etc. and I just slid everything into a suitcase and that's how shit ended up like it did. I only own a 9mm >250 miles away from school, after I get down here and my guns are a 5 hour drive away I consider myself a non-gun-owner.

Dang Peter that fuckin sucks man! Fuck the police, karma is a bitch and they will get theres. Hopefully the karma can be something steep like maybe his little daughter gets hit by a car or something. Maybe his wife gets raped. Anything like that would be cool.
If any of that happens, the officer will take out even more anger towards innocent civilians / criminals, even if all they did was jaywalk across the street. The karma would have to happen to the officer themselves to learn the lesson, karma hurting their loved ones will just give an angry officer with a gun a reason to shoot, just because someone wasn't co-operating.

That answers all the questions right there but there really is no reason to keep a gun in college but to show off you need to use your time there to learn everything you can You dont need any of that bullshit there,I wish I could afford to go to college maybe someday but highly unlikely. They also handout 3-5 sentences for firearms like its nothing around here it happens all the time.People think there gonna get off easy when there sitting in county than that court date comes and there sending your ass up.

So I was sitting chilling in the dorm room just looking at RIU, and then the door was pounded on. I looked out my peephole, and there was no one there. I went back and sat down, the music was at a very low level. The door was pounded quite hard. I looked out the peephole, no one was there, so I announced loudly, FUCK OFF!, as I thought it was a prank of some kind. After another minute and a half of repeated poundings, I just turned up the music to a very loud level. The poundings continued, so I opened the door with a raised fist to two guns in my face!!!!

They were like hands on your head hands on your head. I remained calm, I said what's the problem officers? They said We'll get to that. The same exchange happened 4 times again. They proceeded to stick their hands in my pockets, pulling out my keys and throwing them at my roommate's laptop, breaking keys off of the keyboard, projectile-style. So they finally said, Where's your 9mm?

To which I responded, what? They explained they had many reports of me brandishing a 9mm and threatening many people with it. I never had a 9mm in my room, or on campus at all, so I explained the illegal items in the room. There were fireworks in the closet [at this point I assumed they had a warrant because they burst into my door like they owned the place] and 9mm casings. They also found 97 N2O cartridges which they thought were CO2, so they asked where my air gun was. And what weapons I had in the room. I described and described the location of my knife, the only weapon in the room.

After they did their quick search and also found some empty alcohol bottles, they said we can put you away right now, then they started saying you're under arrest unless you consent to search. I replied you know what, I'm gonna make a few calls. They said hold off on that, it's not allowed. To which I responded, I'm making a call, so unless you are going to physically restrain me from doing so, that's what I'm going to do. They stood there looking at me. I called mother and told her what was up. The cops mocked me while I was on the phone. She said whatever, you're going to jail anyways so let them search.

I then told them you know what, something inside me is saying that I'm gonna have to see the warrant before this room gets searched. They said put your hands behind your back. Then they said the warrant will come with these alcohol bottles, fireworks, and CO2 cartridges, so don't worry. I then consented to search, because I had nothing to hide beyond what they already had. They said with emphasis on the first word, WHEN we find the gun, you're going to be in a lot of trouble. So I told them, good luck. [I felt like being a dick at this point due to the fact I believed I was leaving in cuffs, as they had found some alcohol (though it amounted to less than a shot)]

So they searched the room and taunted me the entire time. The housing director was present the entire time. So I'm pretty well getting kicked out of the dorm at this point, but I asked the cops on their way out if I was getting a criminal case out of this, and they said 90% chance no. So probably all that happens is I get kicked out of the dorms. Anyways, that's still pretty gay. The problem is reporting this situation to my probation officer who will probably want me to drop a UA, and I'm kind of riding a 50/50 on that one...

Anyways, wish me luck.
This will probably be handled administratively, meaning there is a chance your probation officer will not find out about it unless you do something to antagonize the Campus Kops.

That's the good news.

If you check the rules for residence halls at your university, I am almost certain there is a zero tolerance policy for the (I am assuming expended) 9 mm casings and the fireworks. The alcohol may or may not be a factor based on university policy.

The bad news is you will be disciplined. The casings and fireworks are serious. The alcohol less so. Most state universities and many private universities are firearm prohibited zones. That prohibition usually extends to ammo as well in our post-Virginia Tech world. And the Fire Marshall will definitely take the fireworks seriously. You will be lucky if they only kick you off campus. You are probably looking at a suspension. If you give them any provocation, you might even find yourself expelled.

But please be careful around the Campus Kops because you are treading on thin ice as it is with the probation. Any criminal complaint will jam you up good. In my state Campus Kops at public universities are sworn peace officers which means they have the same authority as a real cop.

That's the thing, dude, these are full blown real cops here too, and my name's in the system so I'm gonna have to call my PO tomorrow to report police contact.

But it's all good man, everything will settle out eventually...

Your biggest issue is if the Administrators know about the bullets.

If you never had a gun in your dorm, why are there 9mm casings about?

I quote a previous post of mine in response to your [later than this one] post. Hopefully you can read the thread.

Ok.. that story seems alittle off to me
1) Why would you have 9mm casings and no gun?
2) Why didnt you ask to see the warrent in the first place?
3) Why did you tell them you had the illegal stuff in there?
4) A cop cannot get a warrent without probable cause..reasonable suspicion is not good enough, which is the way you made it sound..
Hell, maybe its different on a college campus

1) Refer to previous posts in this thread.
2) I did... The police avoided this question and proceeded to begin rummaging through my room
3) It looked like they were gonna find it anyway.
4) It is different on a college campus.

on campus you have no rights. the school is allowed to legally search your room at any time, so I assume they can transfer that power over to the police at will.
