sup fella ive not been about lately ive got manflu... ok the discolouration is just under the ligth area right? id say leave the leaves untill thier 50% + dead then take them off more than that and their draining the plant. i wouldnt worry too much as long as youve got planty of new growth and the plants look healthy. up to you if you want to chop the burnt bit off?!?! as for the streeeeeeetch well youve got a numebr of options but id recommend supercropping, check the faq but long and short is pinch the stem one way pinch it the other you'll feel a tube crush in the middle of the stem. it takes a while to get a feel for how much pressure but just a pinch and bend the thing over like dont be afraid to bend it 90 degrees it opens the lower branches up to light and should keep them out the way of the light. don
Hey bender,
The discoloration you're seeing....very tough to tell with the HPS on as I can't pick out the color but it looks like some type of either Mg, P, or maybe Zn deficiency. Not sure really...but definately a deficiency. Try looking over the Plant Problems stickies (I know they're not that helpful and posting there gets little to no response but I imagine you could get a good sense of it by looking at some of those example pics they give). Looking good otherwise. Stretching's a pain but usually controllable by supercropping or screening earlier on. Keep up the good work.
Thanks a lot for your input fellows. I supercropped the girls, i will get some sticks to tie them down tomorrow.looking good Bender. What the others said. Super cropping is your friend in the fight against stretchy plants man.
Can't really see the discoloration under the HPS light. Just some small heat stress or wind burn with the leaf edges curling up. Can you back off your HPS a bit. That may help. This can cause bleaching and discoloration as well over time.
Coming on nice though man!
Also here is a picture of the discolored leaf.
I fed the girls 100 % dose of "Sweet (Grape)" from Botanicare. Before I was giving them 75% dose of sweet. That stuff has Mg in it, if that doesn't help I will get some cal-mag. I will be going to 2.3 EC from 2.0 shortly so I am sure that will help.
Also seems the OG is way more heat sensitive than the Gold, the OG isn't even directly under the light like HG and its still trippin from the heat.
