Hydroponic Coupons

With the economy being down I need to save as much as I can. Does anyone know of a place where I can get custom coupons for hydroponics?

I've tried to negotiate with some places but I'm not having luck. Ten dollars off or 10% off isn't that much. I'm looking for REAL custom coupons that are worth my time.

Any suggestions?

(This site is really cool, btw. Glad i stumbled across it.)

Hey Zephyr! I'm glad I found your post.

I'm not sure what you really mean by 'custom' coupon but I can definitely offer you a generous discount since you're a Roll It Up member.

In other gardening forums I belong to (I'm not extremely active on this site as I don't grow marijuana personally) I give special discounts. Basically, I show people what the wholesale cost is (sort of like Direct Buy) along with my fees to send it and we negotiate a fair price. Since retail can be as high as 50% mark-up, there is a lot of negotiating room.

As long as I make something it's all good.

If you or anyone else wants to negotiate their own prices, that's cool with me. With the economy being down I don't mind helping. :-)

Good Luck!

try your local hydro shop a good one will hook you up with deals
I did try that. The guy behind the counter is stupid and wouldn't budge. He wasn't the owner so I guess I can't really blame him but c'mon...use some common sense.

Online seems like there might be more options.

I would talk to the owner or just not go there unless there stuff is already marked below retail. I personally prefer to support local business and that guy above me spamming his company is right about the mark-ups they are very high (on most items, some exceptions). Shipping is also a factor. I can almost guarantee that if you consolidate your order you will save quite a bit on shipping.
You should also factor in the quality of the equipment you buy there is a LOT of cheap crap out there and i have used a lot of it. Took me a long time to realize that the extra cash for something of higher quality is WELL worth it in the end.

I also think that you should know that many hydro distributors sent out letters to shops saying they do not support marijuana cultivation. This is also another reason I DO NOT support these companies. Also a reason our shop never went with a shitty distributor like that. :peace:

Although we have our own opinions about marijuana laws and hope our President continues down the common sense path this site is not a 'marijuana grow site'. In no way do we or will we promote the use of marijuana or any other illegal substance through this site. If you have questions pertaining to this subject your must find answers at another site.
That is from this guys site, why would you support someone like that?

There isn't a distributor in America that promotes marijuana cultivation. Not a wholesaler, not a retailer, not a anyone...UNLESS...you are in a state that has legal marijuana.

Unless you live in California i KNOW your local store does NOT promote or associate with marijuana.

I know because I'm familiar with EVERY wholesaler of hydroponic equipment and each one has an agreement it will not associate with any vendor (online or brick and mortar) who promotes anything illegal.

As far as spamming? Hardly. I seldom visit this particular forum. A simple Google search brought me back here today and I saw the post.

BTW, I read the terms of agreement and spamming wasn't mentioned...only illegal acts. :-)

That's the problem with forums...not just this one but others. People with a large number of posts come across as superior and authoritative.

I'll show you my Master's degree in horticulture if you show me yours! :-)

There is sooooooo much baddddddddd, badddddd advice in here.

Thanks Hydro. I'll contact you later today.

Mr. Ganga...I agree with EverythingH. I've been to many hydro shops and none support marijuana laws or cultivation. However, when you look at the employee it's a totally different message.

I think the people who own these types of stores knows who their customer is and know what we're doing. I mean I'm a pretty typical looking stoner. They know what I'm doing, they just can't say it.

Now you are putting words in my mouth. The point is not all hydro distributors take the time and effort to send out letters or include a stupid comment about pot cultivation on their site.
Our shop works exclusively with a distributor that does not do this because hydrofarm, sunlight supply, ect sent us letters about marijuana.

My point is the the cannabis culture has extreme buying power and I think part of activism is supporting business' that don't play into the fear mongering.

As for the comment about my post count, I've never tried to appear superior nor do I believe that I am superior. I do think however that your marketing tactics are shameless. My intent when I sell supplies to people is to help them first and I am always the first to tell someone where they can get something cheaper even if I sell it too.

I also DO grow marijuana and hope that my time spent on this site has helped some people.

PS- If you are going to go the online route support Rolli's shop not this guy. He offers discounts to RIU members and I'm sure he would help you find what you need at better prices then listed if you contacted him.
