Are my mushrooms magic?

I just found a load of these growing in my garden. I live in southern Hampshire, england and wondered whether these bad boys have heads full of magic?

Probably not. You would need to go buy a field guide that can help identify things like growing medium/temp/spore print of the hallucinogenic mushrooms in your region. Some are online. Finally, some mushrooms will kill you - for this reason I suggest getting a 500x+ microscope to look at the spores of your captured mushrooms. ONLY THEN CAN YOU BE CERTAIN.

Remember: In the game of mushrooms, ignorance will get you killed.

yeah i guess that's sensible, but i know plenty of people who pick without the technology. is it really necessary or can you get a good idea with a guide? also, i heard there isn't much in england that's poisonous that's easily confused with the magics. true or false?

I would certainly do as Sanyard says. In fact if you don't have a background in mushrooms or know someone who does FOR SURE. I wouldn't pick and eat anything...

words of wisdom indeed, lol, my cousin who i used to hang w/alot was incredibley stupid amd wemt out and just picked some random mushrooms out in his woods and assumed it would make him trip(he's pretty....errrr, i wanna say dumb/stupid, but i dont like saying bad things about people like that, i'll say he's quite unsmart. lol) he puked for like 3 straight hours and had a horrible stomache and headache, later on he said it was the worst hell he'd ever gone through and during it just wanted to go unconsious/die cuz it was so bad.
