I already made a thread on this, but it didn't get too many hits, and my issue is great so here it is..

I have to go to Wisconsin for 3 days (I live in Chicago) for my g-ma's 75th birthday (holy shit:eyesmoke:) and I have to leave my babies unattended for the 3 days..I don't have a auto-watering device or anything like that. I have a timer so I don't have a light issue. The thing that really sucks is I was supposed to be flowering around that time, but I guess I have to wait another 3 days :wall:

Anyways, will my plants die within those 3 days, or will they survive If I water them a shitload before I leave?

Thanks RIU:-(

They won't die in 3 days. don't water a couple of days before you leave and then water with a little more than you normally would. You can't over water in one watering.

That's a good idea, I was thinking about doing that, but lately they've been growing so fast that they are requiring a lot more water.

Oh well, I have to try it anyways :blsmoke:

Thanks man +rep

Be sure to lift the lights a little so they don't grow into them. I left my plant for 2 weeks then 5 days over a period of about 3 1/2 weeks and left them outside (in the summer), and though they were worse for wear they were fine. Weed is a weed, it is hardy.

how many are there? can you put them in a tray of water so they soak it up from the bottom? maybe a shallow rubbermaid container or 2? put an inch or two of water in the bottom and set them in it. maybe? i've never tried it but it may work.

put the pot in a shallow dish. add water to the dish. it will soak up thru the bottom of the pot. the more water in the dish the longer you can stay away. careful not to drown them though. just an inch or so of water. :blsmoke:

Plant wicks are great devices for watering indoor plants, and plant wicks are relatively inexpensive. Plant wicks for watering indoor plants can be found at most garden centers, and they are a great method for watering indoor plants while on vacation. The larger the container of water used with the wick, the longer the plant will receive the water it needs while you’re on vacation.

To use plant wicks to water your indoor plants while on vacation, simply place the ends of the plant wicks in a container of water, and place the other ends of the plant wicks into the soil of your potted plants. As your indoor plants require water, the water will be absorbed through the wicks and into the soil.

I'd suggest something like this. You can also design simple drip devices yourself using things like a car of water and a paper towel. They sell those water globe things everywhere now too. I think those should work fine. Especially with it just being three days, I doubt you have to worry about it much at all.

I'm going to be gone for a week around Christmas so I'll have to work something like this out then as well.

Good luck

About 7 inches wide and 6 inches tall..So should I just fill up the saucer with water?

So guys, am I safe to leave my pot in a saucer of water without it drowning itself? I need to know soon, cause I invested to much to lose:joint::joint::joint:bongsmiliebongsmilie:blsmoke::blsmoke:
