Well, I have to leave out of state for 3 days, so someone suggested to me to fill a saucer with water and put your pot on top of it. As long as your pot has holes in it.I'm growing in soil and i wanted to know if there was any way to set up some kind of system to automatically water my plant. Anyone know of a way?
That sounds very, very difficult to me. Maybe just because I'm high, but I think you would have to be some kind of electrician/plumber to do that lol..there are plenty of ways to water a plant automaticaly.. what do you think most hydro systems do.. you would just need some kind of resovior to hold water and a pump and some tubing to plumb it to the plants.. and of course a timer too..just hook the pump up so that it pumps the water through your tubing and into your plants and set the timer so that it comes on every so often.. it will need some tweaking to figure out how long to leave the pump on for and the flow of water etc.. and i would highly suggest that you get all of the details figured out before you leave, otherwise you maybe coming home to a flood...
hope this helps out some..
Well there isnt too many other ways to do it without drowning your plant..I would suggest using a saucer with water and just setting your pot on top.yeah the pump system is too much money for me right now. i was just about to get an aqua globe but i wanted to see if there were any homemade ways of auto watering.
