like i already said hps is better on a large scale but for something small and personal no way is a hps is better then cfl cost or efficiency wise. and yes ive personally seen and handled grows under 400 600 and 1k watt hps setups. my dad ran 2 1ks and my cousin is running a 400 currently

no problem. I don't have a problem with cfl's. It is how I started but don't try to act like ya'll are gonna get better results with them than a h.i.d. light. just like how my h.i.d won't compare to the sun.

ya thats my next grow. i'm gonna use the LHC to make a miniature universe and grow a sphere of weed around the sun. until i get the funding though, fluoros all the way.

by the way, fluorescent, not cfl, is really the preferred term.


i think we all agree that each respective light has its niche, and thats that.

i still love my trash can though :bigjoint:

personally, i like the fluoros because the plants are nicer to look at. their natural color comes out under fluoros, and i'm not a huge fan of that orange glow under the HPS but for sure i'd use the HID light if i had it.

my buddy's got 16 four foot fluoros standing vertically around his two plants with a 400w up above. not to mention the mylar.

that shit is awesome. it takes at least ten minutes for my eyes to adjust back to normal after being in his room.

speaking of grow rooms, regardless of the type of lighting used the grow room is OFFICIALLY the happiest place on earth. every time i'm around any mj plants i'm so happy, calm, and in touch with the world. my indoor garden is my escape from reality. it truly is amazing.

i hope that you guys can relate....

People will always talk shit man. I did my first grow w/ cfls and got almost an oz for 1 plant. You just have to make sure you do it right, and having a strain that does well under low light, like white satin, helps.
