i don't need "hypothetical" medical conditions for my child, i have real ones to deal with and our insurance company has never given us a hard time about anything.

if they didn't fulfill their contractual obligations i would ask the community and church for help. i'd make it happen. the government doesn't own my kid and i wouldn't hand him or his health over to those animals.

.
!!!You are dillusional !!! What would happen is you would lose your home and be indebted for life. I'm sure your church would not cough up 700,000 bucks for your kid. BTW, why do you answer with the rediculous notion that universal health care would make the government own your kid, Man you are out there. I guess no government is what you want. I'm sure there are countries with very limited governments where you could move. Don't let the proverbial door hit you in the ass,~LOL~.

how do you know what my church would or wouldn't do? who are you to impose your narrow minded, poorly constructed opinion of free societies' will to help other people on my community?

any new government program will create more debt on top of the old debt that's building up and accruing interest. each and every pandering gift that we accept from those useless slugs enslaves us more, not only fiscally but morally and on every other front as well. you just can't seem to understand how this works. government is not your friend, it's not my friend, they are wild and out of control. stop begging them to enslave you because you're dragging me and the rest of this once great nation down with you.

.
What is dragging us down is the insane war and the Bush economics, and greedy assholes like VI. It is certainly not the entitlement programs that have bankrupted this country. Had the Feds left the SS trust fund alone, there would be enough money there to pay for your great-great grandkids. It is the military industrial complex that has bled this country dry, all those corporations that make money from military action that has had their stocks rise into the stratisphere. Your beloved privatization of the military where privateers make a hundred times what a govt. soldier makes. and toilet seats cost a thousand bucks. It is the criminal insurance companies and HMOs that have driven up the cost of medical so CEOs could walk with multi-million dollar salaries and golden parachutes worth hundreds of millions while denying medical procedures for expensive operations, yeah the private sector 7X, Enron, Global crossing, etc. You are telling me you'd rather rely on these greedy pricks then a system where excellence of service would be rewarded instead of profit. W#ith the profit removed, the medical profession could get down to doing what it ws intended for, helping people get well.

those corrupt private companies are empowered by neo-liberal/neo-con government policies. those insurance rates got high because of criminals like J. Edwards, whom you admire as the one who "relates to the common man."

you can spout off all that stuff that's wrong and not even see what's right in your face. this would be like you complaining about balls slapping your chin while John Edwards has you by the ears having his way with your tonsils. look at the real problem, there's a cock in your mouth!

and, what's this about "the medical profession could get down to doing what it ws intended for"???

intended for? do you wrongly assume that government gave birth to the science of medicine? do you wrongly assume that you can assign intention to anything that you are not a part of? you finish high school with all As and get a 1600 on your SAT and finish a BS with a 4.0 GPA and go to med school and dedicate your life to A's for 5-6 years and get back to me on what you should earn. if a carpenter with 20 years of experience deserves more pay than a part time punk who's got a curfew then surely you understand that the Doctors have invested their LIVES in what they do.

Dr.s in other first world countries that have universal medical make a decent living, equivalent of 260K, and don't have to worry about malpractice insurance, It should be the lawyers that are bitching about universal health care as an arbitration board would surely determine how much is paid for malpractice, and the lawyers would be out. BTW, If you want your crappy private expensive insurance, go for it, I'll bet they have a lifetime clause and if someone in your family would exceed that it would be fuck you time. Rich people should be able to go to private dr.s. My Dr. basically priced me out of the market with his 3,000 per person fee to remain as my Dr., a rich person would see that as a non-entity. I'm not against your private for profit plan if that is what you want, I myself would prefer "free" medical, yeah I know about the taxes, but anytime I had a medical problem, it would be free to me at the time, and I wouldn't have to worry about filing Bankruptcy and losing my home.

cops get sued for shooting criminals who are shooting at them. what's this about an arbitration board that would eliminate parasitic thief lawyers?

your doctor priced you out because he got tired of dealing with government programs. go ask him yourself!!! we'll have a shortage of doctors if we submit to hillary and her ilk.

the government will step in to rescue us by lowering admission standards to med school, hooooraaay! now i get to have some moron that doesn't know the difference between antibiotic and antiseptic do an operation on me. thanks, that's a great idea, med.

case closed.

Only in a stupid country that still has a backwards court system. The USA id the only industrialized nation that doesn't have loser pays. Bring in loser pays...and people don't sue McDonalds cause their coffee was too hot. And 5 million lawyers are out of work.

Hillary and the other two democratic leaders have health care plans that won't work. Heath care should not be for profit. It should be for the benefit of the people..not to make insurance companies, and drug companies and health care facilities rich.

Universal healthcare works...if done right. The US has so many examples to chose from around the world...as too avoid the pitfalls. France, yea thats right...France, now has the best healthcare system in the world. Insurance companies and the like aren't getting rich from it either.

Drink!

i don't believe we should punish the "loser" by making them pay for the court's time. that's one of the few functions that government legitimately carries out in a civilized society - providing fair courts to all citizens without fear of retribution. "loser pays" would make justice a product of monetary investment or means. because the court is essentially there to answer questions - this kind of system would be like chastising a child who asks the "wrong" question in the classroom. the real solution is massive tort reform and a stronger hesitation by (certain) federal circuit courts to hear cases dismissed by lower state courts. those federal judges need to be much more reverent toward the state supreme courts' decisions instead of being so quick to assault state sovereignty at every opportunity.

i had no idea that the USA is the "only industrialized" nation that doesn't punish the losers. that makes me very happy, actually. that's something we should be very proud of.

again, the main national government has very few roles in a truly civilized society. animals at the zoo deserve meals, entertainment and free medical care from their owners because they are being held in a prison that exploits them for monetary gains. the zoo owes them those things because that keeps the animals looking good and producing income for the zoo owners. the federal government doesn't owe me anything, i don't want to be in their zoo to be paraded around or patronized. if they think they owe me health care i'll be glad to send them a letter that releases them from any and all responsibility for my health care choices. i am a human being, i am not their property, the government belongs to me, i own them.

because i value life i also value health. it follows in my life-is-precious philosophy that those who dedicate their lives to helping others be healthy are especially valuable. they deserve profit for their willingness to help those who destroy their bodies with junk food and lack of exercise. they deserve profit for their ability to dedicate themselves to saving lives that hang by just a thread. they deserve the fruits of their labor much more so than some lazy government bureaucrat at a desk who's scheduling/not scheduling your doctor appointments for you.

Ho-hum, just bash the bureauocrats, they are all the ills of the society. It is fine for corporations to run ripshod over the land and employees, banking billions in offshore accounts to avoid paying their fair share of taxes, raping the environment and controlling our government to their advantage, yeah it is the bureauocrats that really suck,~LOL~, rediculous. Tell me, when you were young, did a bureaucrat molest you or do something horrible to you and your family?

Why are you complaining about corporate money going offshore to avoid paying taxes Med? You are a devout believer in higher taxes aren't you? Money is like water ... it finds the path of least resistance. The U.S. has the highest corporate tax rate on the planet. So ... the fact that corporate money flows offshore seeking a more favorable tax environment is a direct result of what you espouse and the Abortion Party's taxation policies.

Want to see the economy boom like never before? Eliminate the capital gains taxes.

med, the more i read your posts the more i find myself concluding that you either hate freedom or you're a total idiot.

you consider a realtor, who is your hired advocate, a "thief" for taking a negotiable cut of the sale of a house but you think it's perfectly fine for useless bureaucrats to take a predetermined, at the point of a gun cut of our earnings for doing absolutely nothing when they have absolutely no reason to give any part of a shit about us. if you can even attempt to provide an explanation for this logical abyss please do so.

while you're at it, think about what Vi posted for a minute.

Money is like water ... it finds the path of least resistance.

that impacts the core of your entire philosophy on government.

why do you keep puking up this idea that corporations are ruining everything when it's plain to see that the corrupt neo-lib/neo-con government and corrupt neo-lib/neo-con corporations are working hand in hand to funnel our money into their hands?

Well, as you said, either you don't understand what I post or you are an Idiot. Did you miss the part where I mentioned the corporations controlling the government, Ha, I thought so, you are just an idiot. Did you miss the part where I said that government is fucked to the bone, but would be better at a few things than private profit mills, like medical, Ha I thought so, you are just an Idiot. Believe me, I am no fan of big intrusive government, and yes this government is out of the peoples control. If "we the people" could get the government back under our control, I'd much rather see the government "provide for the general welfare" and stop corporate wellfare. Did you see the news and the billions going to subsidise corporate farmers, some that are getting paid to not grow anything, how fucking rediculous is that? You either don't read my posts thoroughly, or are just an Idiot. I've never said I liked this government, But I realize we must have "A" government to control the corporations instead of joining with them to fuck over the people. There have to be rules and rule enforcers to keep a cohesive society. They just have the rules wrong. BTW. maybe there should be some resistance on the path of money as it seems to always end up in the hands of those that need it least.

Wrong-o Med. Money ends up in the hands of the most productive. Like I've said many times before here in the forum, life is like an echo ... one gets out of life what one puts into it, no more ... and no less.

By the way, here's a opportunity for you: Start investing in corporations that deal in Euros. Coca~Cola is one. General Electric is another. Either that, or start supporting the lowering of corporate tax rates.

fine, as long as you can see the government is not only supporting but franchising (with the criminal subsidies that you mention) this corporate-running-ripshod phenomenon we're on the same page. you just aim at the corporations and i aim at the government. the reason i aim for Feds is this: we entrust government servants to serve us! corporations are by their nature profit seeking so it is expected that they would consume whatever resource given to them on a silver platter. government is NOT supposed to be peddling our property/money to the highest bidder on election day.

your approach is much akin to the pointless and misguided federal drug war; you wage your efforts against the end users instead of the cartels.

i would suggest that you aim appropriately and join me in my disgust for the federal government. let's hold the corporations accountable when they answer to us instead of elite politicians.

Believe me I have plenty of disgust for the feds and their endless non-working policies, war on drugs, war on poverty, war on reason, etc. I also see the corporations as the real power behind the government. Like George Carlin said, it really isn't real. It's just a big show put on by the ruling class to entertain us and keep our minds occupied and give us some hope that the next elected officials will make things better. Guess what, "meet the new boss, same as the old boss." So I attack the source, greed and power, the mantra of the ruling class. BTW if you aren't part of the ruling class, why are you so occupied with free enterprise. Are you an entrepreneur?

look at history, massive corps didn't even exist until after the federal government crushed state's rights in the war of northern aggression. coincidence? only in a fool's mind. that was the genesis moment for this shit hole situation we live in right now. the federal government was the architect of the corrupt symbiotic relationship between wealthy financiers and politicians for sale.

this requires some research. however, there were only big fish in a little pond in the beginning. lot's of little ponds. centralization connected the ponds with tentacles of exclusive streams available only to certain people.
