The reason why marijuana isn't legal is cause not enough of us are going in to pharmacy work and standing up and saying MARIJUANA IS NOT HARMFUL It's really the pharmacists that decide whats legal (in a way) but if pharmacists were to say it's great for many medicinal uses and eventually we will legalize it. I realized this when i moved in and found out my neighbor was a pharmacist I've yet to smoke with him or ask if he smokes even but that's my opinion what's yours

Come on - the criminalization of marijuana is well documented, and it was primarily to get rid of hemp. The reason to get rid of hemp was to favor industry that used cellulose (wood) for it's fiber - as supposed to hemp.
The marijuana part of it was mostly scare tactics, which had little to do with the real issue. It was just a change in legislation. Prior to that there were times where a farmed had to grow hemp - by law.
If it sounds interesting - read up on it. The current law is in my opinion just another example of the head in the ass, and needs to be re-worked.

yeah but maybe if they were actually fighting with the government they may win if they stand behind the scientists then it's them who over powers the government
and also government i'm sure controls media (like news on tv ect.) cause they're probably telling media to talk to hippies if media were to go to a scientist and the scientist said it was good and showed all the facts then we could start a proposition when voting (again and again just keep fighting it) then we as a country could possibly legalize it

First off there has to be a push to legalize. Everyday straight americans have no idea of the truth about weed, so they believe all the horror stories. Look at the nationwide DARE program for kids in school. Your kids will be turning you in after they get their little heads filled with the horrors of pot. Few politicians will stick their necks out to say they support legalizing or at least decriminalizing weed. The god fearing military loving americans will never stand for legalization. It's going to have to be a state by state maybe even a county by county movement. I'm hoping one of the pacific northwest states, california or even a state in the new england area starts the trend. Until then, we'll do what we do and our country will make us law breakers just like they did during prohibition with alcohol...and we all see how that worked out.

Scientists rely on money for research programs, most donators are big business and governments. The only way to get a real movement going based on science is to get new phd students to do thier dissertations on medical marijuana benefits. They would have to fund it themselves though as most businesses who fund the phd research would'nt like the subject matter would they! It costs about £20k-£30k to do a phd in the Uk.
