Ok ya'll I am totally a newby here. I got tired of trying to find smoke and paying a fortune to get just rag weed so now i am on a mission! I already have an aerogarden pro 200 and i ordered some Master Kush seeds and they should be here in about 1 1/2 weeks. I ordered new bulbs for my aero ( my other ones are old) and i also ordered the nuts for the cherry tomatoes. I know that i need to get a stone and air pump. rambling...sorry. Ok my question is this do i use the beginner nuts right off the bat while germination or do i wait 2 weeks and use only half. also should i add a soft white bulb in addition to my standard 3 aerogarden bulbs? any help would be great. once my seeds get here then i will start taking pics to share.

Air stone and pump immediately!!! Lights? Well you will not do much unless you flower with HPS. I have flours, t5x8 x2 units and they are the bomb for veg and that is all!!! 1000 HPS on mover for veg and you will get tons. PPM meter!!!!, PH meter!!!!!!, go with Bonicare pro soil for hydro or soil bloom and the grow for veg. Will give you less issues and great results. Must have fresh air and clean everything. If you want results do all this if not play with them and learn the hard way. I have done both....

working on my setup while my seed babes are germing. pics to follow......

I'm thinking bout using either an aerogarden pro 200 or the aerogarden 6 elite plus. Is one better than the other? They are both $200 bucks right now.

I'm just thinking about using one to hold a small mother, just to keep her alive so I can pull clones from her every three weeks or so.

Kind of not sure how you get the seeds started in the aerogarden pods, but I guess I just don't know much about how it works yet.

i just started the seeds in a wet paper towel between 2 plates. the little root that comes out will go down into the seed pod. mine should be ready today.

I am using the pro 200 because i already had it for growing herbs and salad greens. i have additional lighting that i will be using and making sure that the ph is at about 5.5-5.8. just using the nutes that came with it for now do to cost but I won't start those till 2 weeks.

I heard that it works great in getting clones going. I will probably just use it through the winter until i can plant outside.

Ill try to get some pics today of my ghetto setup. ha ;-)

My seeds finally popped! I used tweezers to put my precious little seeds in the pods root down.

I had 3 seeds germing but only two popped which is probably better to have just two growing anyway.

I have my light cycle on 20/4, no nutes yet, the water pump is set at 24 hours, and so is the bubble stone. I am using 2 additional 26 watt cfls along with my AG grow lights 6500k.
I also have a fan ready to once my first set of leaves pop up. the dome is covering the seeds till this happens as well.

All of the other holes are taped over to keep the light from getting to the roots. I am using distilled water ph balanced water at 5.8ph.

Thats it for now, wish me luck. any and all advice is welcome.:bigjoint:

Happy turkey day all!

Not much to report, looks like the seeds are still developing roots.

got 2 more 26w 6500 k lights yesterday so that makes 4 now.

The water ph is good, the humidity is 36 and the temp stays at 74-80 deg f.

My 3rd seed is actually starting to pop and its a big one so I think I will call her gynormica in hopes that it is a girl.

hi, i'm very new to all this and until i found this sight i was just going to wing it and hope for the best. i still am a bit. i'm using the areagarden pro, looks same as yours,(will post pics tomorrow, they're sleeping) and the neuts that came with the mastergardeners kit, i germ'd them in the ag, the kit came with little jiffypots with a hole in it, so i put a couple of seeds in each (used some seeds i had in a film container from about 7 years ago) so i don't know what they are. they sprouted in 2 days, also i thought worth mentioning, i had some pansy seeds i planted outside the same day, they took 8 days to sprout. so i was pleased with my little machine.

they grew and grew, then i found this sight had a very long read and started thinking about the future, oh shit. how big are they getting. i was on my last notch on the ag. so i asked for some help and was told about supercropping. still not sure if i'm doing it right but, i bent them over and taped them down, grathered all the branches and tied them together, and then i was back on the first notch.

As for lighting, and i feel this is my big problem, i am using the lights that came with the ag, worked great for vegging but i dont think flower? dont know what they even are, but tried to buy replacements and having big trouble finding any. so know any sites anyone?

as i said will post pics tomorrow. in the mean time have fun with your little babies

for your extra lighting you can get 4 26watt 2500k cfls and get those clamping shop light about 6 bucks at wall mart and take off the metal shield. they clip easily onto the AG. also go look at AeroGarden Guide *NEW AND IMPROVED* on this site. it will give you a ton of info. hope this helps.

oops sorry did not realize you were in aust. cfl stands for compact florescent lights a 26 watt cfl would replace 100 watt incandescent (regular bulb) but the reg. bulbs wont work. i found my cfls next to the regular bulbs they have the cfls in 26 watt 2500K and 26 watt 6500k

i think that they start to show there sex right after you force them into flow. i have a ways to go for vegging so i am going to research that now while I am waiting.
