im starting a new indoor grow and i wanna go big this time. im gonna have 800 watts of mh for vegging and 1800(800 mh, 1000 hps) total watts for flowering. the dimensions of the room im gonna be using is: 5'8" depth, 7'2 1/2" width, and 9'4 1/2" height, i wanna be able to get the maximum output i can. what size buckets should i use? how many plants could i fit? and what method should i use the get the most out of it?

ok so you got a lil over 35 square feet of floor space. so if you use something like these square 10" 3 gallon pots
http://www.hydroponics.net/i/132024
then you can fit 30 of them (right 35 sq ft room and 30 10"x10" that are less than a square foot) and still have a foot or two wiggle room to get around the room. but you have to ask yourself do you want to leave walkways to make for easier watering? how much floor space is needed for other things like ac units humidifiers etc... then once you get an idea on how many plants you want to use scale your light to match. You will probably need at least two lights so ya know just kinda put some thought in it and a lil time and you will learn how to maximize your area

so if all i got is 140 watts u think my plants will at least make it through the flowering stage, even if it aint the super dank???
sorry just had to say that you really should have asked to hijack his thread a lil bit? dont you think?:wall:

alright so lets say i use as many 5 gallon buckets as i can, what could my yield average? and with what method?
I would say with almost any method you choose as long as you don't make any huge mistakes and everything goes a little better than average you should be able to harvest an average of 3lb with 1800 watts of light. Some can do better, most do worse. Please don't take that estimate as a guideline, and don't be suprised when your first grow yields less than a pound.

You have to realize it depends on many factors, from light reflection, CO2 injection, strain, method, etc. There are so many, many factors that can determine yield. I am afraid there is no simple answer.

Although so far there is no exact science behind it, but alot of growers that focus on yield like to measure their yield by gram per watt. 600HPS = 600 grams dried seems to pretty much be the gold standard no matter how you accomplish it.

Good Luck

this wont be my first grow just my first big grow, im gonna be doing mostly all different strains thats why i wanted to know what the average would be. but thanx for the help i appreciate it, once i get the wall put up ill start posting some pictures of it and i might even start a whole journal.:leaf::leaf::leaf:
