make sure you go front to back, not bottom up... we don't want you living on a ventilator without a face for the next 8 years.

all those historical tragedies were the result of government encroachment into thought. they told you what to think and if you didn't go along with it you'd pay the price.

i'd expect more from a so called former flower child...

i'd expect you to side with individual liberty instead of the parasitic trial lawyers and expanded government power to regulate thought. i keep forgetting, your avatar says it all... never mind.

You don't like my avatar? How interesting. I thought one of the founding fathers might make you show some respect, although he didn't found anything in the USA. I am not a fan of Marks, but he sure commands a respectful image, I've actually been considering a change, getting bored with it.

respect the ewok in a suit? lol

i'd prob have a lot more respect for him if he wasn't an antisemitic Jew... that rationale of "be this but want that" kind of sets the tone for all his work. i see his philosophy as the biggest proponent of ultra-rich and hand to mouth social stratification ever published. i guess if you have a cool motto, "workers of the world, unite!" people will go along with you in droves...

maybe that's what i need in order to rule the universe, a cool motto....

the government is stepping into each and every business in America and telling them that they must not use KAK sucking as a factor... what if i own a Christian book store, do i not have the right to pass on hiring someone who flagrantly advertises and subjects everyone to their preference of KAK sucking? what is my role in my business if i can't hire/fire who i want?

what if all the nose pickers of America unite? what if there was a law that said you must not hire/fire based on public nose picking? some people see this as a respect issue.
.
I would suspect the KAK sucking issue to be more about pandering than about fighting for liberties. Just look at smoking bans at the State level. I respect people's wishes not to have smoke blown in their faces while they are eating. However, people should be smoking in a dive bar or a cigarette shop. Any anti-kak sucking legislation will at most inconvenience stupid people just like the EOE laws. If employers don't want a certain type of person they just have to be careful on how they present themselves.

you see straight through the smoke and directly into the issue! it is pandering.

what this stuff enables, though, is deception. it actually encourages deception and lies and that, my friend, destroys freedom faster than any prison walls ever could.

going back to the tranny/Christian book store scenario i would have to come up with lies about why i can't hire this man who "wants to be a woman". why can't i have the right to just say, "hey, i think you have a problem and i'll be glad to talk to you, love you and do what i can to help see you through this but there's no way i'm going to hire you to deal with my customers."

why can't i be honest??? the man has a dress on and these politicians are going to tell me i can't risk hurting his feelings? he's already suffering beyond belief, the suicide rate of transsexuals is extremely high.

when did honesty become the worst policy?

what if i am a deeply racist person, why can't i say, "hey, you're black and i don't like blacks so i'm not hiring you." this kind of openness is what makes society grow! that black guy might get pissed and leave but heaven forbid he sit back and ask me why i don't like him without knowing him!!

why can't we have the liberty to be REAL people???

is it fair for people to hate? no, but it's even less fair to deny people the right to learn and move beyond that hate. these laws preserve hate but they think we're just too stupid and lazy to see that.

Soooo, Mr. Christian, you are really a racist and a hater of gays and trannys, My My, Jesus would be proud, NOT. Jesus said "love one another", He didn't say except the gays and trannys and everyone else that didn't fit into your pre-conception of what a human being was supposed to be like. It is hypocrites like you that make this world such a hateful place. Love is a concept you have un-doubtably never concieved. Your business is way more important than your tolerance. Thank God the world isn't filled with people like you, Wait, it is. Thats why there is so much hatred and strife. Good one, you should be allowed to tell blacks and gays to hit the road when they apply for a job even if they are the most qualified, why, because you are a racist and a biggot. Fess up, your maker is watching.

OK you claim to be a racist and I point it out. Who's the baboon mentality here?

oh, how silly of me! i forgot to put an asterisk next to all those hypo-fucking-thetical situations. let me go back and turn a simple post into 15,000 pages of fine print and disclaimers for those of you who haven't got any common sense....

let someone else have a turn now, med, it's rude to stand in the way.

Geeze, I didn't know it was that bad, the inquisition, hey now, I'm gettin mad, when does the Holocaust start, geeze witch trials, I'd better not mention the walking on water thing, eh. I've been feeling that something was sticking to the back of my neck with tentacles creeping into my mind, am I dreaming this or is mind control real. I'm not going to stand for this, fetch me my AK, I'll start with the mind control, I'll fix them, if I blow my head off, they can't control my mind, yeah thats the logic inflected here, What a bunch of fascist crap.[/quote]

Ask David Koresh and those in Mt. Carmel who believed as he did.

Who were the fascists here, Med? Koresh and his group of followers, or the goons from your beloved federal government?

Closet Cult sez ...

"the "right to discriminate". what is that, the 28th ammendment?"

The Constitution enumerates those basic rights that the federal government cannot abridge. If you'll read the 10th Amendment, you'll see that everything else is to be left up to the states or to the people. You have the basic right to travel, live with whom ever you choose, buy the car of your choice, buy the clothes of your choice all without constitutional amendments ... and you/we should also have the right to discriminate. You/we discriminate all the time. You/we choose our friends and those who will not be our friends. You/we choose where and how we are going to spend our money and where we are not going to spend it. You/we choose where we want to work and where we do not want to work. By the same token, if I own a resturant, I should be able to allow smoking or not allow smoking. If I don't want to serve a particular group of people, or a particular individual person (for what ever reason), that should be my choice. And if I make those choices, I should be willing to live with the economic consequences of those choices as well.

Actually, with a little exception, the hiring discrimination thing, I agree with you. I have always known that I could go almost anywhere in town and apply for a job, and if I were qualified, I would get it. I have had many jobs in my career, a jack of all trades and master of only a couple. I never faced discrimination because of my race, religion or sexual orientation. Therefore it is hard for me to really feel the sadness and dissapointment felt by those that have experienced this phenomen. That is why I come out against discrimination in the hiring phase. If the person is qualified more than any other, they should get the job.

I agree, they SHOULD get the job ... but not by force. If an employer is so stupid that he/she would turn down the most qualified and take an employee of lesser talent, the employer will eventually pay the price. The same applies to the owner of a business who will not sell/serve those groups he discriminates against. Eventually, he will be out of business. By refusing to serve them, he is refusing their money. The invisible hand of the free market is hard to trick, Med.

So then, you are calling 7X stupid. By refusing to accept the most qualified person because of personal hatreds or phobias, a business owner is cutting off his nose to spite his face. That is in exact opposition to 7Xs reality that says he must be able to discriminate to keep his business alive and well. I think this may get interesting.

I would never be so stupid as to call 7x stupid.

If I owned a restaurant, for example, and a homeless guy walked in, money in hand, and ordered a meal, I should be able to discriminate and refuse him service. Most homeless people stink to high Heaven and would most likely drive my other customers away. On the other hand, if I refuse to serve someone from a particular ethnic group because of my racist tendencies, then what I am in effect doing is discriminating against his money ... and I am the ultimate loser. In any case, I should have the right to be stupid in my business dealings, even to the point of putting myself out of business without government interference.

what Vi said is perfectly inline with what i've been saying all along!

it's not that i believe anyone -should- act on unfounded or cruel discrimination toward anyone, i believe that they -have- the natural right to do that; as ugly as it is. they (the discriminator) could learn a lesson from it... they might learn something and change. you never know! the person on the receiving end of the discrimination WILL find another job, hopefully somewhere they aren't hated or looked down on. that's the basis of my problem with this thought control law. government intervention in such personal things is atrocious from a liberty perspective but it's also devastating to the actual cause of having a truly diverse and harmonious society.

It's me and VI and Wavels against the world, with a lottle Hoff thrown in, right 7X you guys would agree even if you were at complete different ends of the spectrum. Thats fine. I guess discrimination then, is all in the eyes of the beholder,~LOL~ rediculous arguement!!! Discrimination for capital gains is an evil thing, period.
