Im going to make a DWC Hydroponic system, but since I cannot get my hand on net pots, I am forced to use clones. Can I just take my seedlings(10 days vegging) and put the seedlings in foam inserts I cut out from Foam alphabet letters?

In my mindset its like a clone with already established roots, So it should work ?

The stem will grow to much to use those foam inserts for very long. Before the size cannot be contained or the weight pushes the plug into the solution....Stems get thick....Plants get heavy....In that video he says his clone-r plugs are 2" my plants stems right now are about that round......

Yep one mother plant each (2) cloned from the budding ones... one's about a foot and ready to clone from the other was cut a little later and is about 7-8" there bunched together but will only be used to make cuttings to feed my harvest every two weeks system here when my current plants are done http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cHQwywPBDw&feature=channel
Would the cheap 6 dollar pump work for the big rubbermaid tub ?

Wouldnt I need 2x 6 dollar pumps since Ill need 2x 6inch air stones ? and 2 tubes to connect the air pump and air stone together ?

Do you add nutes as soon as roots touch the water ?

Would jello cups work ?

Sorry for the hefty amount of questions. You've been a big help. And im amazed at your swift replying!

Will work Up to about 5-6 gallons... For the 18 gallon totes I have to use the 11$ 20-60 Gal Dual Outlet Pump Also At Walmart same shelf just a bit more $$$

They sell T Splitters For the Air Hose Right Next to the hose and pumps at Walmart... It will take, 1 pump going to a hose, to a syphon catch, to a hose into the tote, T splited To 2 airstones inside the tote ....

Do you add nutes as soon as roots touch the water ?
No Nutes For the first 2 weeks(.) If there older than 2 weeks start adding seedling strength nute solution......

Would jello cups work ?
Work With What ya got.... If it has a rim at the top, so it wont fall though into your tote.... it should be just fine

I don't mind answering questions. I feel everyone who smokes should grow their own and stop supporting Cartels, Gangs ,And sketchy drug dealers with our hard earned money. So question away..I Had never done hydro before this setup I learned everything I know about it From Rollitup.org The Hydroponic & DWC section. They were the biggest help ever, just took a couple days of reading And I was off and growing my own, Not "free" but wayyy cheap Nugs...

Yes Pump runs to the splitter for 2 or more air stones I wouldn't recommend more than 2 for a small pump tho splitters cost 1.50 at wally world same shelf as the pumps hose ect...lol

Would a Rubbermaid box stacked on the hydroponic Rubbermaid box be a good idea ?

With a rubbermaid box I can grow 3-6 plants.
but it will be less stealthy.

With a 5 gallon bucket,QUESTION: How many plants could go in a 5 gallon bucket ? I was hoping for 3......as i was saying the 5 gallon bucket could fit into my cab. Making it easier, since I already have the lights set up.

Which would you choose.

I will only grow 3-4 plants at most. So.... What would be the best choice.

It could be a hassle as there are many things to concider a few that come to my mind is... Size of plants, Heat, Light Quality, Air Flow, Water Changes & Tote Cleaning, Water Top Off ????
But Could be Done I'm Sure....You'll have to put a lot of thought into it tho...

It Has handles eh? It can be move if needed ....Same with bucket.....

If you going to Flower in the bucket I'd Say 1 Maybe Mayyybee 2?

Because The buckets lid Is so compact (round) You can't Fit 2-3 plants in nicely like you can space them out on a square tote I would go tote But the situation may differ from you point of view and needs...
The truth is DWC is pretty simple and effective from grows small to large Find the size that suits your area Give each plant at least a foot of space between each other(put the center of a ruler in the middle of the net pot space if the ruler ends don't touch another plants net pot area that should be fine) if possible and enough tote capacity for about a gallon of water per day per plant....
