When Is A Good Time For Topping?

Howdy, I have a plant that is almost 1 month old, and im thinking it might be time to top it? Or am i suppose to wait until i start flowering? And im wondering how far down i should cut.

Since you waited a month to top, I wouldn't top anywhere near the bottom. You can go ahead and cut the top node off now, and your side branches will grow much taller. Read Uncle Bens topping thread in the advanced marijuana cultivation forum.

Ideally you want to give yourself at least one week after topping for continued veg growth, but Id shoot for two weeks + if time isn't an issue.

YOu can cut higher if you want. It's just going to be a little taller, and a little less bushy.

Some people let their plants get about 4 or 5 before topping at the 2nd.

That plant is fine to top at the 2nd node. No problem at all. If you're planning on veggin for another 3 weeks to a month, you'll be fine. Don't top it and go straight in to flowering.

thats a good lookin plant, you should post a pic after you top it to show us how you did. definitely want to let it veg after you do it, i veged my plant for 8 weeks from seed and i will get less than a half, because i am going to reveg it. the longer the veg, the more branches it makes, and the more buds it produces

Nothing to it man. Just get a clean razor blade and cut it off at a slight angle about 3/16 to a quarter inch above that 2nd true node. She'll be fine.
