hey guys i am thinking of doing a full cfl grow from clone to bud..i inherited 18 x 27 watt cfls (2700) and 5 11 watt cfls (2700)...now my question is what time of yield do cfls produce?? how many cfls are needed for a flowering plant and what would the yeild be????
thanks

any cfl info is much appreciated

if you are doing one plant you will get a good yield.... place them all around the plant....

good luck....

i've done 3 grows, all CFL, single plant minigrows and using less than half of half that light, i've gotten 20+ grams each time, pretty decent bud, enough for me..... and my plants didn't pass 2 feet in height, and didn't live past 80 days..... with longer veg and flower you'll probably get MORE....

Iv seen bunches of people doing CFL grows from start to finish and i plan on doing one myself come January, but they are only good for small grows like 1-2 plants, maybe 3 depending on how many you got. Seeing as you have a shit ton of lights you should be good to go and get a pretty good yield. I highly recommend growing a dwarf strain like lowryder if you are using CFLs, specifically easyryder (lowryder #2 x ak-47).

good for seedling anc clones thats all...........get a hps
you can grow start to finish with them. as long as you have the right lumens. and i have a hps , this is for a stealth grow... and hps doesnt understand stealth... you need a stealth turbine to keep the temps down-non existant with needed cfm

as long as you have the entire plant lit, full light penetration youll be able to bring it to harvest, BUT it wont be near what a hps would bring ya. i grew with cfls my first grow, i9 got an oz off a plant i jumped to a 400hps and it went to 4 ozs. no comparison

again not comparing to hps.. its going to be a cfl grow.... how many watts of cfl and what spectrum did you use to get an ounce? how many plants and such? nutes? hydro?

You want to use warm white cfls with a couple cool white cfls for the flowering stage. Use as many as you can, but make sure it adds up to at least 3000 lumens. Ive used cfls in a couple of my grows and they yielded about an ounce each. Cfls are a good cheap alternative to hps or MH.

i have 23 bulbs that are all 2700k or soft white... can i grow with them? or do i need to add other light as well?

I use them for veg but thats about it got HPS for the flowering. I don't think they would do a very good job of flowering a plant unless you had like a cage and clamped them on all sides then you could get pretty good coverage and probably get some pretty good figures.

I use 2700k for veg and flowering and they work fine. I usually come up with an oz dry weight but have gotten 2 1/4 dry before from 6x 42w cfls.

i have 18 27watt cfls right now.. and 5 11 watters.... thats 36,250 lumens right there and i plan on getting more... im sure ill get a good yield...

the buds from the cfls are never very dense. small airy buds. if you have to use them go ahead but you wont get a very good yield.

I have 2 150w hps and 8 23w 2700k cfls in different rooms each flowering a clone from the same plant. What I did notice is that I seem to have more trych production with the cfls. The HPS definetly wins for yield though.

Yeah, you will get great yields if cfls are used properly, evenly dispersed aroun the plants and really good coverage. CHeck out roseman he grows with cfls, crazy shit.

is this even a proven fact??? i heard its about the strain and genetics of the plant, whether you get dense or fluffy buds, cus i grow autos with cfls and the buds seem fine..

ive never gotten fluffy buds from CFL but I use lights all around the plant not just on top. Also to the OP 31k lumens is averaging out to about what a 250w hps puts out in lumens so you will be good to go there if you are in a good space.

if youve noticed anything about asking cfl questions on here you get very angry answers from hid user why because they could not master the cfl's no other reason at all on this sight you will find many many outstanding cfl grows, go to the cfl forum. im using only 200 watts of cfl mix 2700 and 6500 day 40 ish of flower and i beg anyone to tell me my buds are fluffy and light and i started from seed snd went to flower at only day 30 total today my girls are only 16" high and im sure to get at least 3/4 ounce of each one sticky bud..cfl's can rock if done right...Peace pot prosperity.. check my blue mystic grow in sig
