I've found that I do better at shops when I have a handful of each type of piece. Maybe make a half dozen different colored versions of the paisley design, and do the same with a few other designs. They seem to like to be able to pick up a few of each style, and be able to offer customers different colors of the same pipe. Another benefit there is that once you get really used to doing a specific design, you'll start getting faster at it. I went into a local shop yesterday with ten of the same little bubblers - just different color patterns - and they took them all.
The exception is when you're doing more high-end, expensive, unique pieces - then they'll usually just get one at a time.
It's not as fun re-making the same piece over and over, rather than just doing whatever sounds fun at the moment, but it seems to get the sales numbers up a bit.

Can i have you hold on to a few for me till next friday or is it first come first served? I get paid friday and i wanna get the black/white $15 (first row, 3rd down), the blue $15(last row, last one down) and the 2nd one down on the last row of the 15's.please note: these are "seconds". they are slightly less than perfect, but still very good none the less. not intended for illegal use.
