My Outdoor Garden-2010

I'm posting this thread to get my 2010 log started.

I'm new to these forums, but have been frequenting grow sites for over a decade.

A recent disaster at another site cost me three years of grow logs. I have all the pix saved, and may post a few here, from previous years.

I'll be growing 18 plants, this year.

Strains that I know will be included are :

Trainwreck(clone only)

Durban Poison(from seed, of my own breeding from a couple of different DP strains.)

White Widow(seed)

White Russian(clone only)

Magic Carpet Ride(a rare strain decended from an old school Afghanica. Very large plants)

Afghani Kush(seed)

Herijuana(this years example was a "10" in all categories)

Starburst(A work in progress. Currently about 75% sativa. Two more generations should generate an incredibly sweet, fruity smoke, with 20%+ THC.)

I will choose the remaining strains from a collection of 40+ landrace and IBL strains and about three hundred different hybrid crosses.

My cat is my constant companion in the garden. He's also truly a Ham when he sees my camera.

People have described my grow pix as "kitty standing in front of pot plants".

A few pix from previous years...

Welcome, very nice grow shots.

Sorry to hear about your troubles on the other site, you look like you should fit right in here!

Please share your knowledge with the rest of us. I'll enjoy watching.

Peace
doublejj
P.S. There are some really good growers here to also learn a little something from. I learn something new each season.

sweet! Now THAT is what I call a 'sea of green' (Sooo many plants!)!! Those buds look really sweet too, one can get such a great yield when growing outdoors. Love the cat too! nice grow, props dude..

Nice! I'm friggin' jealous. I wish I could just head out back of my house and get a garden growing. The temps around here aren't made for it and neither are the laws...

+rep because you're LTD

Thanks for the kind words!

Some more shots...

I'm just marking time until I start my seeds in about ten days.

I avoid starting next year's seeds until
I'm done trimming this year's buds. I have arthritis that makes the process very slow. I've considered a mechanical trimmers, but I'm kind of a perfectionist, and hate the loss of trichomes associated with rough handling.

Another 40 hours should get the job done!

These shots were taken yesterday, and I managed to mislabel every one. These shots are of a Neville's Haze, that as things happen, appears very similar to my Purple Power x Arjan's Haze. I've ordered a new camera because this one doesn't focus as well as it used to. This strain is extremely colorful with orange pistils, deep purple calyxes and bright green foliage.

A few Neville's Haze pix...

A couple pix of Neville's Haze buds. This plant was exposed to a neighbor's porch lights, and about half of its 2+ lb yield ended up very fluffy. Excellent smoke but a real hassle to trim...

Fuzzy demonstrates how to stay warm on a cold morning.

The pix were posted to show an example of light poisoning from a neighbor's porch light. This plant was in a greenhouse, facing a neighbor's back yard. Next year I'll raise a screen to block the window and porch light.

that starburst you made sounds delectable.

It really is the best tasting strain I've ever grown. It started as a lucky cross. I've been back crossing it for several years. The plants, given room outdoors, are huge.

Instead of large kholas, it produces hundreds of half gram buds. Very easy trimming, if you don't sample too heavily!

it must feel so good knowing you created your own bud/plant to your liking.you got any pics of it?keep doing what your doing. +rep

Unfortunately, I don't have any pix that single out the Starburst, at this time. It was in the middle of a solid mass, this year...

The two parents are Durban(not Durban Poison) and Chronix(a creation of Hillbilly Dreams seeds, a decade ago).

A few pix that feature the Starburst(DxC).

Last season, I grew out fifteen different strains. This led to some overcrowding that stunted the White Russian and A-10. Each produced less than an ounce.

I intend to reduce plant numbers and pay much more attention to training each plant into an optimum growth pattern. I use an outdoor modified ScrOG that keeps the plants below eight feet, at harvest.

In the greenhouses, the screen is set at about four feet above the ground.

This creates a mass of buds on each plant. Yield in the better greenhouse approached 60g/sq. ft.

A few shots of the screens...
