so it comes down to overall health of the plant. if the purple'ing occurs on healthy leaves with HEAVY trichome production it is genetics.
whereas stress is where "non-bud" leaf without heavy trichome production turns purple?

i do agree the "stress" leaf looks more like lockout/deficiency/un-healthy.

how low did you have your temps. im trying to get my blueberry purple right now my temps are 20C during the day and 15C at night. 60F-70F

One of my girls is also turning purple but I'm pretty sure it's from the low temps. What do you think?

No....No prob bro if your temps are runnin low that could be why the foliage is turning purple,,

BYW....What temps you runnin now?

man, i dont know purp, looks more and more like the "purpling" is genetics but i know that it is caused by low temps... looks pretty tight anyhow

just a suggestion purp,.... maybe if you used an unvented reflector, it would act as a heater and warm the plants, if you think your are having a cold temp issue... I do this with my plants in the attic... it gets 50 degrees in there but they stay warm from the heat of the bulb... it is a 1000w though

Purp if your having heat issues I have a suggestion.

Go to a local RatShack and invest in a potentiometer. (Basically a knob your put inline with your + lead and you can control the current your giving your fan)
now there's a lot of variable's I don't know such as your fan voltage but it's a good start.

That way you can find just the right speed where your fan is cooling the light but also allowing enough heat to your plants.

Woohoo! Purp has sprout!

To me the purpling issue is the plants normal response to cold temps. Dark colors absorb more heat aka don't wear black in the summer sun you'll roast your nuts! Having said that that pic you showed was sick (not in a good way) and that leaf went through all kinds of stress and the light purpling was just one of it's responses to try and suvive.

I do the soak and papertowel trick and haven't had a bad bean yet! Oh shit, I just jinxed myself! Next time I'll water germ a few and papertowel a few and do a compare and contrast! I got seeds up the wazoo anyway and more on the way with that Attitude xmas special.

Ever had a seed not float and just sink to the bottom right away. I did and I almost threw is out but now it's my biggest girl. That ain't normal but then neither am I! A match made in bud heaven!

No im deff not having temp probs if anything it be too hot in there...i cant get it that cold in there if i tried. That leaf aint mine and i hope mine never look like that
