oh sry... didnt see any replies as i used my phone and the server doesnt seem to refresh well... yes they r gettng water, no they r not getting nutes.. they have no roots so how they gonna take in nutes... i dont want it to grow, i want it to root.. my res is at 20C or 69F... is that too cold??? i put a clone from a previous batch done in rockwool that just started showing roots when i built the system and it has great root structure now, but nuthin on the new clippings
ive seriously had the worst luck with cloning... i tried building a fogger, 3weeks+, still nuffin.. straight water changed every few days, 3weeks+ still nuffing.. plugs, soil, roockwool they jus eventually dry up as im not around often enuff to keep them alive... so far rock wool is my best but still not where i want and need to be.. thats y i built this cuz its suposed to be aster and i dont have to baby them, they can do there thing on there own... right now im not very happy
I use an aeroponic clone bucket. So far 100% of all cuttings have developed roots. I'm growing perpetual with 3 different strains (White Rhino, Blackjack, Permafrost). The WR developes roots within a few days, the BJ takes about a week and the PF takes almost 3 weeks. When I take the cutting I immediately place the cut end under water where I make a long diagonal cut along one side. This exposes the plant to the rooting hormone and gives it a great place to develope the roots from. Patience is the name of the game with cloning but I feel the most important factor to successful cloning is room temp. Keep the room's temp around 75 degrees if possible. The cuttings are in a very fragile state and small shift in the room's conditions can stress the cutting which can stunt development or possibly kill the plant. Don't over think it or try to do to much. Hey bro; I think you're doing everything correctly, and I've had the longest rooting time ever. Some people say they have roots in 3-4 days, and I wanna slap them!!! I've not been able to obtain roots within a damn month. I believe you will prevail, but it takes them a lot longer under non-optimal conditions. I have been reading that higher temps will root clones faster, but mine took as long as a month to root. As long as they don't look like they are 'dead', then they are at work. The speed that they are at work depends on certain variables, but I am pretty sure it's "CRUCIAL" to have 100% humidity via a humidity dome for the first 3 days after cutting the cutling, or it may stress them out big time which in turn will take longer to root. Mine have taken about a month each time. Here's my thread, and some pictures to assist.
He's right, don't give up. BTW, I've tried it both ways, (keeping the aerocloner on 24/7 and 15min On/ 15min OFF) Both worked but the 15/15 made them root a few days faster than 24/7 (not a substantial difference).
U can get that timer ur talkin about from "horticulture source" for 56$ I have 1 on the way. After shipping its probly like 60-70 but ill be running 5 4ystems off it so its really 10 a system
I take a 45 degree cut under water then I score it along one side (about a 1/2 to 1/4 inch long slice, depending on the size of the clone) keeping it under water, then I dip it in clone gel. In my experience the roots always grow out from the damaged area first.
I wouldn't worry about adding humidity, the bucket provides everything the cuttings need. I've never used one and never had a reason too.
You'll either need to start the cuttings in the bucket 3 weeks EARLIER or find a strain that roots faster.
I use clonex solution in my bucket and I change the water out once a week (I use tap water). I always notice an almost immediate response a day or two after changing the water.
