1st indoor grow..

supplies

2 40 gal rubbermaids
3 42 watt CFL
scotts premium soil
two small energy efficient fans
surge protector
Timer
extension cord

seeds all reg afghan

I had two strawberry cough seeds that germinated but had trouble sprouting.

I just ordered some .. Red Cherry Berry fem and Crimea Blue fem seeds.. I think I am just going to throw them in rain water for 24hrs then pop it in the soil. I might just plant them in their larger sized pots. I just can't afford to have these seeds fuck up. Any other suggestions on sure shit ways to get your seeds to pop.

I removed the foil and painted it flat white

light cycle 24/0

ANY FEEDBACK PLEASE

yea def get some Y adapters.and that foil will create hotspots, it may become and issue when the plants really start to bush out and fill in. if you can get your hands on a few feet of mylar you will be rockn.you will get much more out of your lighting...in my opinion anyway

okkkk..... UPDATE

I bought 3 more 42 watt CFL's

3 y adapters

And white reflective poster board.? the guy at my grow shop said its the cheapest alternative.

I transplanted two plants into bigger pots with FOXFARM instead of scotts premium! But now the plants are pointing upwards? whats up with that?..

I read something like magnesium deficiency ? Also if the lights are to low and its burning the plant or lights to high and the plant is reaching. I have toggled the height for the past few days. two days putting the light one inch away, and the plant has stayed the same. So today when i added the new lights and raised them around 3 inches over the plants. So well c what happens.

Hey guys,

I have been watering my plant way to much. Around once a day. I have fox farm soil, and watering with distilled water. My leaves are turning yellow, with a little orange around the tips? Should i just chill on the watering?

PLEASE ANSWER THIS someone!

way too much water with the fox farm stuff. i use happy frog and only have to water 2 times a week
try to keep the cfls about 2 inches away from the leaves seems to work great for me.

yea dude def too much on the watering..i did the same. just water like every 2-4 days depending on how good your drainage and air flow is in the box. you can use the "lift" method,or what i do is just take my finger and dig around into the first few inches of soil,if its sticking to your finger or it feels a little moist there probly good. ive herd they do best in a wet to dry kinda medium.

are you going 12/12 from seed?,cause those bulbs look a little warm for veg, could just be the pic.

thanks man, i use the lift method, you can definatly feel when they need to be watered when u lift them, the top of the plant seems to wiegh more than the pot, a trick i got from uncle ben in the newb section is to put a drop of dawn dish soap in when u water, it helps keep the top layer of soil from transfering water into the air, that way you fans wont dry your soil out. good luck growin

Im actually on 24/0 the other two seeds just hit soil today. I mean i have read so many different opinions on lights cycles. But what do you think, with this type of setup should i go 12/12? a little warm? Do you mean i should have gotten the "cool" lights? Sry man I'm a super noob in some categories.

Thanks for the feedback man

nice tip! my fans def do dry my soil. I think i might transfer this grow into a growtent. A rubbermaid is tough, just because i feel so limited with space.

well its all on you to be honest,i asked cause the bulbs are def warm bulbs, let me guess 3500k or 2700k? lol..well if your looking for some head smoke asap,go 12/12 from seed with 2700k..if you got time and dont mind waiting for a larger yeild, swap out all your warm bulbs for 6500k..or 5000k would be be fine also called "full spectrum cfls" or somthin. veg wit those on like 18/6 light cycle..wait anywere from 30-50 days, and flip the cycle and bulbs back to 12/12 with the 2700ks..hope i helped:bigjoint:
