npk's are a weird thing, the numbers can very a lot depending on if the nutes are organis, synthetic, powder, liquid, ect.
organics usually have a very low NPK and powder synthetics are usually really high PK.
i honestly dont know how they get all their values but i know the USA has a different method then the UK... a NPK of 0-10-11 can be the exact same as 0-13-14... (the label is the only difference)
but i usually ask around to see what kinda verbal feed back i get about a product. People usually think whatever they are using is "THE SHIT" so i dont take everything they say as a fact.
next i buy what im interested in, and use the new product on 15-25% of the crop. The rest of the crop gets its normal reciepe. This is the best way to try products out imo... some products need some tweaking and i might try 2 runs with it before i form a solid opinion on it.
AND YES, A LOT OF PRODUCTS THESE DAYS HAVE UNLISTED INGREDIENTS!! ALMOST EVERYTHING THESE DAYS!!
EVEN CAL/MAG PLUS HAS SULFER IN IT
GREAT WHITE IS 9% NITROGEN
TONS OF DIFFERENT PRODUCTS HAVE UNLISTED HORMONES, ACIDS, VITAMINS, ECT. ECT...
ITS USUALLY THE CHEAPER OLDER BRANDS THAT LIST ALL THEIR INGREDIENTS, AND THE NEWER MORE PRICEY COMPANIES THAT ARE HIDING THEIR "SECRET RECEIPES".
SOME OF THESE SECRET INGREDIENTS REALLY SEEM TO WORK, WHILE OTHER EXPENCIVE PRODUCTS SEEM TO NOTHING SPECIAL AND MAY NOT CONTAIN ANY SECRETS AT ALL?
MOST OF THE COMPANIES WONT TELL US MUCH.
I KNOW SOMEONE WHO HIRED A INDEPENDENT LAB TO TEST CANNA'S BOOST ACCELERATOR. THEY TOLD HIM THAT THE TEST RESULTS COULD NOT BE RELEASED BECAUSE THE FORMULA WAS PROTECTED BY MANY SPECIAL PATENTS... THEY SAID IT WAS LIKE HAVING COCA~COLA TESTED... (NOT GUNNA HAPPEN)
hey jberry, plants are doing much better now. still showing signs of stress but they are perking up much more. i will feed once more at a low dose then work up a little.
i got a question. some people swear by some nutrients. lets take fox farms for example....grow big is 6-4-4 and tiger bloom is 2-8-4. now on the other hand we can use something like supernatural gro with an npk of 20-20-20 and supernatural bloom 11-31-15. there is a big difference here, i understand one is organic and one is synthetic. how is it one can be successful with one and another can be successful with the other? ive always wondered about the different results one may get with trying different nutrients.. what do you look for in a good fertilizer? please elaborate on this subject and why it is important to understand these npk values and when you would want to use one product over the other.
also take GH chi foliar spray .2 - 0 - .2 or fox farms big bloom .01 - .3 - .7....how could a product this low in npk actual be of much use? there may be other micronutrients in other products that are helping but these two don't show any of the sort on the back. are there hidden ingredients in these that are helping with our grow?? have u used any of the nutrients mentioned? how about bio bizz bio grow?
