If they haven't been harming your plants, i don't know if its necessary to kill them. they sound like mosquito larvae to me if they're in the water.

Read this article which hints at a way to control your white worm problems. It says the worms will collect on the tray after a heavy watering.

When flushing your soil you'll be drowning worms in the process and they'll be trying to escape which is when you see them collecting together on the pot tray. So flush flush flush? It should reduce the population and possibly rid yourself of them completely with enough flushes?

Let us know what happens if you proceed with this measure.

i have pretty much the same thing, except i can see them in the soil when i disturb it. They move really quick and crawl back under the soil immediately. They are less than 1mm. NO ONE seems to know the name of them... or how to get rid of them. From what i have read so far they dont appear to be lethal but can possible cause yellowing of the leafs. I would say they have legs the way they move. Everyone keeps saying whiteflies, aphids, thrips, mites, but i looked up all those and it doens't look like any of them. Closest thing i found so far is Springtails, which are not usually harmful... but mine haven't appeared to jump atleast yet i just found them last night... Anyways, goodluck i'm searching for a solution as well. let me know if you figure it out.

i have looked at many pix and they are not any of the bugs mentioned except the springtails look similar to the ones in the soil but they move so fast its hard to tell.. maybe if we all work together we can figure this shit out n git rid of these damn bugs once and for all..Good idea???

Hey dude,
those are fungus gnat larvae. Use hydrogen peroxide to kill those fuckers. It kills them on contact in the soil. Use about 8 ounces diluted in a quart of water and that should do it.
