+rep for clone stretch experiences during flower

so i'm growing a nl#5 clone whose mother was grown from seed
when i flowered mom at 5 inches, she finished out at 29 inches
i had 30 inches of workable height in my grow chamber at the time
that was a bit close to my max, and did make me sweat a bit
so i know my clone is not going to stretch like that
i have seen double height for indica stretch
but i've also seen others say their indica clone stretched a lot less
+rep for any experiences on this

Theoretically a clone shouldn't stretch - any more than the original mother - becuase it's a genetic duplicate...

If this is a clone from an unknown indica mother, you won't know what the normal plant height is until you see it. I'd LST to be safe

Hope that helps

Keep your lights closer, and tie down the tallest branches as they grow, that will help Also, INDICA strains are known for being shorter and bushier that Sativas. What kinda lights you using?

In my experience seed-plants tend to stretch more than cuttings during the veg period. One way to slow down a vigorously growing top is to give the stem a gentle pinch and bend; you can do this well into flowering with no problem at all.

this clone is from the mother who stretched from 5 to 29 inches
but the mother was started straight from seed
from what i've read, a clone should stretch less than a plant from seed
i can boost my grow chamber height in a pinch, rather not though
at the moment, i'm thinking a foot tall, then flower
don't want her too small, or too tall - so the balancing act begins

29 inches is short I'm not sure of the problem there. if you flower the clone at 10 inch expect it to reach 3:evil:.
if you start flowering at 5 inch she didn't show pistil until 10-12inch or taller and then she did her flowering boost so sounds just about right good luck

rather than focusing solely on the height you should accomodate how the plant grows - I tried to do a little cab grow and focus on the height of the beasts but they way outgrew it... idk maybe just my take

flower before its a foot tall or LST it lower then get it a foot tall that would be good

cfl's - 5500k for the moment, 2700k when i get flowering going
tying down is an option, be nice if it comes in without training - just a bit lazy and like the natural plant shape

kind of a gentle super-cropping? that's a nice bit of info
this happened in my last grow by accident, NL has heavy buds and few bent over without help
did recover just by straightening though
+rep for that technique if it comes to that

no problem yet, but this is great info
the last grow with the mother was in the same chamber - she fit like a glove in there
10 inches --> 3 feet? ouch!
that's what i'm trying to avoid - well the more experiences i see from growers that have the grows under their belt the better
i was thinking of flowering at 12 inches, but that sounds a bit risky
i may top, like to cut a clone for a smaller chamber
+rep for the good feedback

i purposely use smaller pots, that seems to keep more manageable plants in space restrected areas. topping too.

well, i did just try the small pot/micro setup
small pots did keep the plant small, but also miserable and unhealthy
i had no luck at all with small pots
so i've gone back to what worked before for me, 2 gallon pot
thanks for the thoughts, we'll see how it goes
