can you go through the album from the 1 link?it would save alot of time! but if it doesnt im sure alot of people like that feature.

The watts are exactly the same. They don't count. You can have 1000w of lighting, and if it isn't in the correct spectrum or if it doesn't put out enough lumens, it doesn't matter.

im aware of this, im currently have florecents going and will be setting up my hps within the next couple weeks.
Im trying to help this guy. all ive said is it can be done becous alot of people say floros=shit bud but iver seen otherwise so i say if its all you can afford at the moment go for it.
I trust that we could both learn from you.

No offense meant, 400Whps, I just noticed the OP stated a time or two that he or she had X amount of watts for their grow, and wanted to let them know the lowdown on watts vs lumens. I have nothing against floros - personally, I use a tube for my seedlings the first week, and I veg with CFL's myself - just use my HPS for flowering. Check out my current grows, if you like.
Nice looking lady, by the way - you should get a journal started. If nothing else, I find mine useful as a reference tool for what I did wrong, and what worked.:peace:

I took it as possitive criticism(it's usefull but sometimes people take offence when they shouldnt)sorry ive been bit bitchy this week.lol
my floros are for veg, any clones i take will be lowerdown in the same room.the 400w will be setupsoon for flowering.cant wait:)
Ive been thinking of a journal but im going to wait until i have some better seeds(the new year,maybe sooner)as it stands i have a book to keep track of feeding and date of planting ect.. i have a 2010 calander ready for the newyear. just thought i should ask a Q.hope noone minds.
i can put my 400 in a closet that is 2ft deep,3ft wide and5.7ft tall. if it goes here im making a bake'a'round cooltube to keep temps low.
im also thinking for this space i can use the bottom foot-ft1/2 as a drying/curing area with it's own exaust going up and venting right before my cooltube, so both are vented together.the area's will be seperated and waterproofed with mylar/duct tape.
or i can build a room anywhere from 3x4 to 3x6 in my roomates bedroom(he is a friend of mine for years and is learning more about cultivation everyday with alot of intrest in saving money and loving the hobby).
on average my "wife" 2 roomates and myself smoke about an 3/4 -an oz a day at $140-$180 so we need to save cash bigtime.this is 100% cultivation for vaporation/burning!!! any opinions would be great! im just worried my small closet may get too hot,(i can always add more fans but dont want to spend more then $100 on ventilation(not including carbon filter)) anyways if more detail is needed i can take pics,make diagrams..whichever's need'd if needed. the pro of my closet is ventilating is very easy form there and it can be made stealth easy with a zipper up door behind the door of the closet.
also my intake for this closet would be from the veg room, i will make it lightproof,my only worry is i want to grow afew auto's in the veg room and i wouldnt want a auto-male to pollinate my regular-flowering nugs....(if that happened i would try to inbreed them and make something great of it over time)

btw do you think it's better to take clones and then bloom-out the "mom" and keep those clones to replace her, or just root then flowerout clones.
I know both have their advantages,just curious...keep on keepin on

Absolutely nothing wrong with using T12 tubes (especially 6500k for vegging, you'll want something in the 2700k range for flowering), but you really should look into some side lighting because tubes don't penetrate the canopy very well. A couple of cheap (under $20 at Lowes or Home depot) 4 foot T12 fixtures mounted to provide some side lighting will make a BIG difference in your grow (of course you can accomplish the same thing with some CFL's --- they have 4-packs of 100watt (equivalent) 6500k CFL's at Home Depot for $9.98 (I just bought 3 packs today to add some supplemental lower lighting to my setup). If you found a good deal on a MH lamp, it would be worth getting for vegging, but as someone posted previously, one with a switchable ballast would be even better. An HPS with one of the newer "blue enhanced" bulbs would be even better than that, but as with everything the price starts climbing as you advance. For some personal bud the T12's with a little lower and side lighting will work, then you can always add stuff a little at a time as you go.

is there such a thing as putting to may lights? i am using fluorescent tubes. i have a plant&aquaruim tube, also a grow tube, i am growing in a closet so i am thinking of lining the closet with tubes i am wondering if this is a good idea? and also if it is good to use different types of bulbs in each light via cool white, grow and the plant light?

You can't have too much light as long as it's in the right frequencies, and most importantly as long as it isn't generating too much heat. If you have adequate ventilation for your specific system, then I don't see how you could have too much light.

aslong as it's not too hot more floro's will help more and more...im told a mix of coolwhite/warmwhite 50/50 is best for vegging (coolwhite =foliar growth, and warmwhite is great for chunky stems to support you buds.the fatter the stem the fatter the bud(usually, life has it's acceptions)
im very curiouse about the spectrum of plant&aquarium bulbs becous most of my lightes are them, if ill be better adding more coolwhite(blue spec) ill pick some up. im thinking of filling the line inbetween my floro fixtures with cfl's going accross the 4ft of the fixture(probably start with 6 and add upto 10over time)+afwe cfls for side light in the darker area's of my closet.....I have a 250hps bulb and want to buy the socket/ballast so i can add it with my 400hps=650hps:):)

Honestly, I think you'll be happier with the larger space to flower in, so I would have to vote for the extra room.

thanks, im probably doing the larger room(building a pvc&mylar tent.)im going to use it once in my roomates room, then after it will be in my room(the gf is leaving and after all her stuff is gone i have a bed,dresser coffee table, and a 20x17 bedroom im probably building the tent 4ft deep 8ft long and 6ft tall. im not 100% if i will go that big though, i like the thought of (if i got caught) that its a small closet, not a chunk of a bedroom(and i feel like this closet is really out of the way where no-one will ever go,all the electrical,water and laundry facilities are on the opposit side of the basement,but i have water and power within 4 ft)
