First grow - White Widow

Hi all, well I'm here for the same reason i imagine yall are, tired of over paying for crap bud lol. Anyway this is my first grow, any tips/advice is greatly appreciated. Heres my set up so far (mostly gathered from information on this form and a few other sites).

First off I have feminized white widow seeds from ams. Being my first time i was sceptical as i'm sure most are, but delivery was fast and discreet just like they promised =).

For lighting I went back and forth reading the different topics and found that MH/HPS was best for me so I have a 250 watt hps balast with a conversion mh bulb. 27k lumens hps, 20k roughly on mh.

Soil = Fox Farms ocean green mixed with some extra perlite.

Fertilizers = Fox Farms 3pack (Tiger Bloom/Big Bloom/Grow Big).

Also got a ph testing kit. I have included pictures of my set up and you cant see it but for air flow I have a fan set up facing into the cabinet, its nothing to big simply because this is just 1 plant.

Again any advice/tips is welcome. Here are the photos of my progress so far.

Day 1 = Germination (notice the red cup of water with a seed in it).

Day 2=Seed sunk, planted, wraped with cling it wrap.

Day 4 = Sprouted, green leaves, removed wrap.

Day 5 = Last one till it grows a bit taller and will then fill the pot container with soil up to first set of leaves.

*Update, switched from using my MH light to FL for seedling stage (Thanks DoeEyed)

Looks like you're off to a good start! One suggestion, if you can get a 6500K CFL or two, that would be better for the first week or two. It will help keep your seedling from stretching, form the distance your light has to stay. Very young seedlings often find MH/HPS lights too intense to start with.

Thank you for the tip, I ordered 2 6500k CFLs, may take a few to ship being this close to the holidays.

I purchased 2 grow lights from walmart, they claim to be 3k lumens a piece. They arent compact but the long style, roughly 2 feet, is this ok for now? Attached photo.

I don't see the pic, but if it's the one I think it is, that will also work well - and you can put that one within an inch of your baby, it shouldn't get too hot to burn it.

Day 14 - Currently misting the leaves 1/2 hour or so before light comes on in the morning. Watering roughly 250 ml of water every 3 days or so. Any tips / advice let me know.

Thanks
