I tested fresh tap water and it was 7.1, then tested my current feeding water and it was 6.0, its been laying out for a few days, so seems pretty accurate to me?it will come calibrated but should be recalibrated every week or so. You only need one solution, 7.01 calibrations solution. Use it for that and storage - fill a shot glass with it and keep the meter tip in it with cap on.

cheers for the advice mate.Make sure that after every use, you shake off any excess fluid within the sensor area, doesn't hurt to give it a little wipe.
Then you can leave it longer to calibrate. The more times you calibrate the more incorrect it gets. With micro build up around the sensor and micro particles of salt get left when water evaporates on the sensor, the calibration is still the same, just your reading it slightly higher, multiply this over several hundred uses and it gradually puts the meter out.
A good meter shouldn't need calibrating that often if looked after properly
Sure, that's recalibrating in your head, but why bother? By the way, distilled water is 7.0 but is not good for storage solution.cheers for the advice mate.
I'm going to order the solution 7 later today, but, just wondering, say I had a liquid that was a specific pH, and the meter read it wrong, by 2 pH, couldn't I just knock off the 2 and still have a fairly accurate reading.
Maybe thats a stupid question, I dont know, its all about learning though, and, I really appreciate the replies guy's.
yeah I ordered the solution a few minutes ago, was just wondering.Sure, that's recalibrating in your head, but why bother? By the way, distilled water is 7.0 but is not good for storage solution.

thanks man.
I ordered the 1 litre bottle of 7 and the 250ml bottle of 4, so I should be sorted.Did you check which calibration fluid you needed, some need 7 some need 4 some need 10, some need to use all 3 to get really accurate readings.
how are you going to be growing your plants?I ordered the 1 litre bottle of 7 and the 250ml bottle of 4, so I should be sorted.
I'll be growing 100% coco, as I have done on previous grows, I never tested my pH though and this obviously led to problems, so im relieved to have one this time around, overall im more prepared.how are you going to be growing your plants?
