How many pounds can you fine trim a day?

That yellow machine is the twister. It is so loud!!!
Hi bleezyg420,

Someone pointed out this post to me, so I joined Roll it Up just to reply :). The yellow machine that you're using is called the Samurai, and it's made by Advanced Nutrients.

I'm with the company that makes the Twister leaf trimming machine.

It is, in my biased opinion, a vastly superior machine that's specifically designed for commercial growing conditions. You can learn more at our site or search 'twister trimming machine' on youtube to watch a lot of videos.

We wrote a blog post recently about how many pounds the Twister can trim per hour. Check it out.
Any questions, let me know.

That twister and Samurai look amazing, but those machines look huge and probably way out of my price range. Does anyone have any good DIY links to homemade bud trimmers using fans etc?

I joined simply to point out to bleezyg420, who is evidently unhappy with his trimmer, that he's using a Samurai, not a Twister. Sorry if my post offended you, fdd2blk.

Whats up with the single out take? The advance nutrients has 2. I wasn't overall impressed. Next year we will be trying something different, but until then. Fdd how was this year for ya buddy?

The Twister has a single 6" outtake/hose, while the Samurai has two 4" outtakes/hoses. Through exhaustive (no pun intended) testing, we've found that a single 6" hose provides better performance (via less pressure loss) than two 4" hoses. It's also easier to setup and clean with one hose over two.

Forgive another link, but this one might actually prove useful to bleezyg420 and anyone else interested in this style of trimmer. It's a 21 page thread (from icmag) from a guy in Humboldt who grows for a medical collective and used the Twister a couple months ago. TONS of pics and great info about best practices when using this type of trimmer. A lot of the info will apply to the Samurai, bleezyg420, which might get you better results out of it next crop. The short answer: A single 6" outtake performs better than two 4" outtakes, which allows for a closer trim.

The longer answer: The Samurai has two 4" hoses, while the Twister has one 6" hose. The single 6” Twister hose has an area of 28.27”, while the area of two 4” hoses is 25.14”. That's 11% more area over 2 smaller hoses. Theoretically, the 6" hose also provides far less pressure loss at similar flow rates than the two 4" hoses. At 1700 CFM each 4" hose loses 220% more pressure due to friction of the interior walls than the 6". That is 1/4 the losses of the two smaller hoses and allows higher suction pressure at the outlet of the Twister.

Is that yellow ladder really 20 ft tall? I have never seen a ladder that tall that wasn't an extension ladder...
Is that 15' fencing surrounding the grow?

The Twister works way better than the Tumbleweed/Samurai. I owned a Samurai and sold it and bought two Twisters this last fall. They trimmed way tighter and faster than the Samurai. I think it is a little funny that this guy didn't know what machine he had. I did some forty pound days with the Twister and most of my strains needed hardly any touch up after they came out. I had a friend who did some sixty pound days. Check out my videos. http://www.youtube.com/user/humboldtcountylocal I would recommend this machine to any one with a good sized harvest or any one that just wants to do the whole thing themselves without any outside help. It has made my operation a lot more self sufficient and safer. I usually hang out on a different forum but I thought I would stick up for teamtwister because their machine is so much better than that yellow piece of crap and should not be confused with it. I have a lot of pictures but when I try to load them into a gallery it says I need a security token? Is there another way to post the pics?

I pressure wash my Twister every few hours of use to keep it clean. That is the key to keeping the blades sharp and adjusted. There is no shake in that pic because there is a vacuum that hooks up to the machine and sucks all of the trim into a trash bag. Do these pics look "staged"?

Do these look staged? Did you look at my youtube vids? Do those look staged? This forum has quite the reputation for trolls so I am not shocked that "staged" was the response I got. Most growers would not waste their time here but I did not like the way you were treating teamtwister. I understand you don't want people spaming but don't you want to learn something new? That is why I come to forums. The guy that started this thread didn't even know the name of the machine he was using. If I am not wanted on here I will go back to my preferred forum.

Hey fdd2blk, I just looked through your glass thread. You make some really nice stuff. But isn't that considered spamming by selling it through your thread? Do you pay for advertising on here? If someone said they had some of your glass and it sucked but it really wasn't made by you, wouldn't you want to clear that up? Because that is what teamtwister was doing.
