Affordable seeds/seedlings?

Hello everyone.. I'm looking at doing a 500 plant operation this coming year..

I need 500 seeds/seedlings, what would be the most effective/cheapest way to go about doing this? Reason being I am planning on selling this marijuana at near-paid prices ($1 a gram is my goal) because I am out of the selling business and I want my first big grow to benefit others, etc.. Hopefully secure some good karma incase I do a commercial grow later..

Nevertheless.. The main question at hand is..
How should I go about getting 500 plants? Would buying 10 seeds now and turning them into mothers and cloning, work in the few months I have? Any good sources for buying bulk seeds? I really can't afford to plop down $2000 in seeds for a outdoor crop that might not even work out..

Opinions? What would you do to get a 500 plant op going..

Well i would do mothers and get some clones going, I mean by the time you grow, they will have roots.
And maybe even start vegging them and getting them used to the sun before you just plop em out there.
I would highly recommend getting fem. seeds. Get some big bud for quantity. More for your money.

Oh and can i buy some from you? 1$ a gram fucking nice.

2000 dollars 500 feminized seeds would be 4 dollars a seed, which if you could hook up with a breeder that's probably the best your gonna do for investment. On the other hand 2000 would buy a lb of brick, and probably get enough seeds to do you. Your gonna sell it anyways, so...

brickweed usualy isnt good quality. but for $1 a gram it would b worth it i guess
and deffinatly could get 500 seeds with less than $2000 investment. roll like 5 blunts and you'll b half way there :mrgreen: hahaha(joking of course)

I'd talk to the people at Nirvana or Attitude and work out a deal, but only if you need the seeds ASAP. Clearly, your looking to spend $1,000 - $1,500 on an order like that. I don't get why you would spend that kind of cash for such a low ROI. If I was in your shoes, I would look for a way to bring that cost down. One way to do that is to place two small orders of your favorite stable strains and cross them yourself. You'll get F1 hybrids for cheap and you could clone the best ones.

And call me crazy, but if I was set on spending over a grand, I would learn Tissue Culture or find a biology geek who could do it for you. Once you got that mastered your really in business. You would be able to get hundreds of clones off a single mother every couple of week.

My goal is hopefully to just supply my neighbourhood with affordable cronic.. I am aiming for $1 a gram but after crunching numbers I might be able to go lower.. I just want to break even, it's my first major outdoor grow.

Ideally if I could just get clones off a mother plant, I could practically afford to give the weed away.. Which would be the best imho.. I'm not getting my hopes up though!

I don't like outdoor weed, so my goal was to grow some really good strains and see what my user base thinks of it.

My indoor grows will continue to be my profitmakers/personal stash supply :)

damn kid youll be in for a reality check when you find out how much work growin 500 plants outdoor is. do you even know wtf types of strains work well in your region?

It sounds like your looking towards the sea of green method. If you haven't already, take a hard look at the auto flowering strains by lowrider. I'm a fan of the fruity tasting strains myself, so I picked up the auto lemon skunk. The auto ak47, auto blueberry, or auto hindu kush, wouldn't be bad choices either. What I love about autos is that they grow fast. They take well to 24/7 lighting. And their tailor made for sea of green style grows. The only downside is you can't clone them. But you can still breed them and get plenty of seeds. Just stagger your grow so you always have some coming and going.

As for the outdoor weed comment that everyone is harping on... indoor has it's place and we shouldn't forget that every region is different. While I happen to live in southern cali where the weather and medical laws are in my favor to grow outdoors, I can't assume everyone else is so lucky.

Yeah, I don't like outdoor weed, and yes I have done 500 + plants indoors..
I only work 20 hours a week (commissioned sales) so I have tons of time to kill.. I love growing plants and this is my first experimental large scale outdoor grow..
Vindicated.. Thank-you so much for that information.. I'm going to go look into auto-flowering plants right now; would it possible to pull off 2 or maybe 3 harvests?

Using a fast growing auto strain you should be able to harvest every ten weeks or three months. Some people have even managed to pull it off in as little as 8 weeks.

honestly man if you are going to put yourself at risk and waste time/money on this I would sell for more than $1 a gram ... 1/8th here is $50.00 for chron if you were selling for say $40.00 you would still be #1 choice still be the cheapest and maybe actually make a few dollars

this isnt half baked(movie) man dont give away weed with a smiley face on the package for free somethin like that im sure would create a buzz but that might not be good think of getting caught growing 500 plants you were going to give away for close to nothing

and if you need seeds come to my place check the back porch should be well over 500 there and you can have em for free but im in vegas so if you are far I can float them to you inside some green balloons the ones that pop will just spread the seeds around
