LST question

Ive seen a lot of diagrams and what not for LST, they are all tied down on soil. Do you need to tie down the plant onto soil, or can you tie it down onto a solid surface?

Basically, if i cut a hole in a table, and have the plant growing out of that hole, can i LST onto the table? I dont see why not, but maybe someone out there knows different.

I am designing an LST chamber using 12 30w CFLs in a 21"x36" area and i just want some input before i actually build it.

yeah you can tie it down to anything. it doesnt have to be restricted to soil. i always duct tape my tie downs to the side of the plant pots.

same here, i use that nylon orange string, and pull her down never tying a knot, i re-adjust every day or 2.. my blueberry's looking pretty nice 6 weeks since seed, LST'ing her since 5 nodes

Word! Thanks a lot. I figured it would be fine, i just never saw anyone do anything other than just spiral their plants in their planters.
