After patiently waiting for my first seed order to arrive, I am so disappointed that none of my nirvana hindu kush seeds have germinated in a week. I got a complete dead bag of seeds. $30 bucks for nothing.

check their germ recommendations. not all seeds want to germ the same way. if you did everything right, just move on and go with mandala seeds. some of the best ive ever used,

Are you sure that its their fault?

some seeds require more heat to germ than others..... i would imagine hindu kush needs quite a warm enviroment?

Nirvana seeds suck i had the same problem. I germed using the paper towel, bb($80)bubblicious($30)Skunk (free). Bb i got 2 out of 10 to Germ, and the cost me $80 bucks, everything else no problems, but i called and tried to explain what happen and that i was sold duds and they CONTINUED to say, "we dont handle germ issues".... Never again, next time i am going with Dr. seed or whatever, i hear the best things about him??

Good Luck!

You guys when you call should probably say a seed got smashed or something, they are not going to handle germination problems as they have a disclaimer that says they are sold for novelty... replacing a seed that wont germinate would compromise their policy. ive never ordered seeds online but it seems like legally they have to give you that response. no company would want a bad rep over a few seeed

also, temperature and toomuch/toolittle water can cause issues with seeds

From my understanding if Dr. seed sells duds,(cause the issue wasnt with my germ process, it was the seeds being duds) they replace them, and they do care about selling "a couple of bad seeds". So i guess it just goes back to standards of service.

Seeds should have definitely germed in a week. If your keeping the towel and seeds moist on a plate with another ontop of that, its a pretty reliable method. If you had dead seeds they would be a very light color. If the seeds are dark with veins, they're viable.

just had 8/8 nirvana afghani, and 7/8 nirvana NL germ. The one NL that didn't make it had a problem shedding its shell, not germinating...(ordered from Dr Chronic)

not sure what the problem is, but why do people insist on germinating in such complicated ways? Just put them 3/8 to 1/2" deep in your wet medium and leave them under veg lighting cycle for 4-5 days. You will get 100% germination with viable seeds. Plus no stress on the taproot. Once you have seen a seed germinate, there is no reason to continue the paper towel experiment.

I did one in soil. It took 7 days before it popped out(was just about to give up). When I got my rockwool cubes, I stuck the seeds in and 2 days later they popped out.

What would make it quicker?
It seemed to me to be the same, but only to not waste a pot with a dud.
As long as the seed is a solid seed, one you can't crush & good brown/black colors, and the seed is in darkness and kept moist it should be fine either way.
Also above 72 deg. helps a lot!
