I am sure you could engineer anything to just "work". If the manufacturer says use a ballast, then use a ballast. Dont take chances with possible safety issues man, common sense is a big player right now.if i have hps bulb 150W is it necessary to get a ballast or is it ok just to connect it and use it as it is now?
That is my stance on all the advice I give everyone. You must stay within your means. Dont take short cuts, mother nature will fuck you everytime if you dont give the plants their bare minimum to grow strong. Patience and the minimums are all you need, not short cuts.dammit... i guess you right... i just so fuckin expenssive... and its not even the bulb or something... well i gess ill use cfl
dude this is pretty much for a used ballast... at list where i live a new 1 like yours costs like 90$... but still all i have is 70$ and it needs to to be enaugh for HPS 150W bulb (23$) and a ballast (70$) and the other stuff (elecricity soil and everything else... but it dont matter... i dont think they sell here second hand ballasts... so again i think ill go for cflDon't fret yet man. The local grow shop near me sells refurbished/like new ballasts for a good price. I got a 400 W HPS ballast for $150. Seeing as I am on a budget, and they offered me a "guarantee" (if it stops working just bring it back), it works fine for me.
