Glass screens

So I started using glass screens for the first time a couple days ago. I'm still trying to decide whether or not they're worth the 75 cents each. They look really clean, and the first few rips with a fresh screen taste like heaven. But it's pretty messy having to worry about ashes and a screen covered in resin. And you have to take them out and move them every so often so they don't clog the bowl. One screen lasts about 2 days before it's too covered in resin to work properly anymore. I'm used to just snapping bowls.

Anybody use these regularly? :?

I used one all the time before I broke my bong. After a bowl or two, if the bowl had resin in it but the screen was clean, it would be stuck enough to not fall out. When it got really dirty all I had to do was clean it off a little with a paper towel.

Which type did you use?
Flower type?

Or jack type?

I used the jack type. The flower ones seem like they would clog up pretty quick.

Like said before, a pipe that doesn't need a screen is the best.

Ewe - brass screens? I would rather not smoke than taste that nasty flavor.

Glass screens are fucking great. And definitely worth the price. I know the real snobs don't like them. But I think I am more of a snob than most because I clean my bong and screen with Everclear and brown rice before every use. I require a glass screen for maximum bong-smoking pleasure; to keep my water clean. Smoking a bong with ash in the water disgusts me. Glass screens are a VERY good thing.

1. Drop the screen in

2. Pack the bowl

3. Smoke the bowl

4. Knock the ashes / glass screen into hand

5. Pic the screen up with index and thumb of other hand

6. "Roll" screen with fingers

7. Put screen back in bowl

8, Repeat until you are done for the night, you should be good for a few more seshes - I would then drop in a shot glass with a little bit of alcohol and soak until clean.

You will need a poker, the screen will get stuck in the resin. I took wire snips to a wire clothing hanger at the corner so it had a bend in it. You will need to do this. I just poke it out of from the bottom.

I bought 3 glass screens over a year ago. I gave two to my friends and kept one. They all lasted until a few months ago. Both were lost when someone who had never used one blew out the bowl. I still have one left and I fucking love it.

They are the jack kind. I leave it in the bowl until it pretty much carbonizes to it. No inhaled ash for me.

i love the daisies!!!

all i do is smoke one or two bowls through to get the daisy to stick then i am able to scrape the ash out and dont have to pull through, and if you ever have a problem with clogging just get one of the long wild berry incense (i like this brand specifically due to the small round stick that is perfect for cleaning out those tiny little spaces between each (peddle) little bumps of glass, but obviously if you arent smoking good nice resinous green then you will have to pack a lot more in to make the little glass screen stick!

i like the daisies over the jacks because the jacks allow you to pull way to much green through since it is hard to get it packed tightly around the little legs of the jack that are near the hole in the bowl.
