I'm not really sure, I was planning on flowering them when they got to 12 inches in veg, does that seem right?

Yes if you want small plants, however if you have the room I would recommend vegging until they are at least two feet, I don't know if it's the strain I'm growing or if it's still early in the flowering stage but my plants aren't growing anywhere near half or triple the size everybody claims, in fact they seem to have stopped growing upward, only growing buds now.

Hope this helps!

so beautiful. so lush and symmetrical. 4.5" and great looking at 15 days. and you don't know the strain.....hmmm....so I guess we can't make any assumptions about height/bushiness. I am watching this closely as I am on a similar track though was not able to find the 6500K CFLs I wanted so for vegeing I am sticking with the 2700K - I know it will pose limitations but for this time, I can accept that. Topping yours? gee, they look so bushy and perfect, I'm not sure I would - but what I have read says once they have 4-5 nodes and have reached 9-12"...good luck...I'll be checking in regularly.

Good advice Hum, I'll let them go longer if that's the case. I ended up topping one of them last night, just to see the effect. Thanks for checkin in on me.

The topped plant is in front.

The plant that I didnt top reached just over 5 inches this morning. They get fed a 3/4 strength mix of 20-20-20 tomorrow. They are looking healthy and I am pleased thus far.

The plant that I didnt top is right at 7 inches and really bushy. Both plants look really healthy. The plant that I didnt top is in the front.

Also, I'm seeing these little things that look like hairs at every node. Since this is my first grow I dont know if this may be a sign of pre-flowering? I'm only seeing these on the plant that I did not top ( the bigger plant ). Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. Any thoughts?

I repotted the plants for the final time today. The roots have really formed nicely. The pots that I have them in now are either 3 or 4 gallon pots( I think 3 ), I'm not sure which. I dont know how long I'll veg, it depends on how bushy they are and how fast they shoot up vertically. I guess I'll just figure it out as I go but my best guess is that I'll veg them until they are 18-24 inches tall. I fed them yesterday a 3/4 solution of 20-20-20 and they are experiencing a small case of nute burn. I think I'll stay at 3/4 strength 20-20-20 for the next feeding as well. I'm going to wait 10-14 days or so before another feeding. Heres a pic of them in the final pots.

Man those are really looking nice tight and starting to bush, I think you are going to be pleased with the topped plant, it's awesome to watch two - four colas grow apposed to one, if I had the room I'd top all my girls.

That's where the preflowers start but them are far from hairs, it will probably be awhile yet before you start to see the sex.

Here ya go,

That should help you as it help me, all I have to say now is .. Keep up the great work!

Heres a picture of them from the top. Both plants have now been topped and are in their final 3 gallon pots. The tallest is one is 8 inches tall. They have experienced some minor nutrient burn. Do I need to flush them no matter what or will they get better? Does Nute burn progress until you flush? Thanks.

Looks to me that you are also getting the leaves wet and looks like the leaves could be or could have touched the soil, I would only feed them ph'd water for awhile, those leaves will probably eventually die off, I would just leave them be, when they are ready they will drop....

Otherwise looking fantastic, keep up the good work!

Due to recent developments there may be a job offer coming that I cant pass up. The job would require relocation. So with that in mind, I've decided to send these plants into flower. Some bud is better than none at all. Both plants have been topped and stand at 9 inches. I topped the 1st one at 5 nodes and I topped the 2nd one at 7 nodes. I really wanted to veg them until they were 18 inches before I flowered them but plans do go awry. I think that since the CFL's do not penetrate the foliage that well that it may even be beneficial to flower the plants now when they are short. Even if they triple in size, they will only end up being 27 inches tall. Anyway, last night was their first night of 12/12. Today I'll be replacing half(6) of the bulbs in my hood with 42 watt 2700k, 2700 lumen CFL's. This will bump the total lumens on these plants to 25,800. In 3 weeks I'll replace the other 6 and have all 12 bulbs as 42 watt CFL's for 32,400 total lumens. Heres a pic of them as they woke up this morning. Both plants have been flushed and look healthy. I just wish I could have vegged them a little longer. Does anyone have any idea of how much yield I can expect from these plants if they are both female?

I cant really distinguish any hairs on the nodes but I think I can see some small hairs starting... However, these look like bud formations to me. She's been on 12/12 for 8 days. Can any of you guys tell anything from this picture? Does this plant look female? Thanks.
