Anyone reading?

The Outfit by Gus Russo

Real good read if your into mafia books.
It gives an in depth look at how the gangsters of chicago back in the 20's and 30's became so powerful. It goes WAY beyond Capone

I wish I had time to read...I only have time to read my school text books. That's enough reading on it's own.

The last book I read was Cormac McCarthy's The Road...vey good.
I just started Paul Theroux's Mosquito Coast.
Too many books, not enough time!

Electric Kool Aid Acid Test is fantastic!!!

I read The Mosquito Coast back in the 1980's. I can't even remember if I enjoyed it or not. :dunce:

Electric Kool Aid Acid Test was excellent. A relatively clear window into the 1960's. Those damn Merry Pranksters! Tom Wolfe is a fantastic writer.

I just started Post Office - Charles Budkowski. Anyone
reading something interesting?

Bukowski is cool as hell.
the movie where Mickey Rourke played him was way better than the Matt Dillon one.
He's so cool Modest Mouse wrote a song named after him.

I'm currently reading 'Extraordinary Popular Delusions'.
a small book, but interesting.

LOL @ JohnnyO. Don't get the vapors.
Yeah, I'm fanning my chest and calling for smelling salts just like Aunt Pittypat. :-P

It's very impressive so far. And to think it was Margaret Mitchell's only novel published during her lifetime.

It's a classic.

So many authors have only one great book in them. Charles Frazer's Cold Mountain was followed by a piece of dreck which traumatized me so badly reading it I have blocked out the title. Heartbreaking after the promise of his first book.

Does that have chapters on the Tulip Craze, The South Sea Bubble, and Witch-hunting? I have that book. Fun!:bigjoint:
that is indeed the same book.
it was one of a few books I picked up that was in the bibliography of Ron Paul's book.
